internet problem

I use adelphia cable, recently my internet connection has been very unstable. Pings spike to 999 for a second then return to normal. This event happens every 5-10 minutes and lasts for approx. 5-10 minutes. My average download speed is 11 kbps. Help please

Try running Ad-aware, get rid of nasty spy ware.

Where are you located? I'm in Pittsburgh and I have had the exact same problem for some days now (ever since their server went down). They are installing a new server, which should be up by the weekend (according to the tech I spoke with).
