Hey,

I'm having trouble with T2. I was playing the other day after the auth servers came up. Then I went out for the day. When I came back, I tried to start up T2, and right at the start, without even showing the intro or anything. Any ideas why this would suddenly happen?

I have latest drivers, so that's not it.

I'd rather not reinstall That always sucks because my T2 CD is borked.

Thanks a lot!

right at the start, what? anyways, had it worked with the new drivers before? maybe you need to go back to the older drivers

What does that mean. Yer not too coherent.
Are you saying the intro was missing?
Perhaps you turned it off?
Or did something else happen that you didn't tell us about?
I vote for a REINSTAL!!!! wooohoooo
How is that not coherent?

Right at the start. I hit the tribes 2 button, it brings up the black screen, and I get a UE right away.

I was playing T2 the day before fine. (after the auth servers came back up)

u never finished ur thought in the first post and never mentioned any ues.

probably video drivers
only thing that I can think of is if you have WindowsXP and have it set to auto-update. It may have decided that the Microsoft created drivers for something were better than what you had, I know the MS made drivers for the nVidia cards don't have a proper implementation of OpenGL, and causes (or at least did in the past) a UE on startup.

Anybody who knows T2 realizes that "Tribes 2 woes" is the infamous unhandled exception.
Make sure you updated the video drivers correctly. Sometimes, with XP if you aren't very careful, Windows will install what it thinks is best....which is never best.

Don't make people assume so much. We've seen solid freezes, crashes to desktop, and random reboots caused by T2 as well.
My XP isn't on auto-update. The drivers are the same as the day before when T2 was working fine. I even tried reinstalling drivers anyway and it didn't work

ibfukt
Did you try reinstalling Divx?

Appology accepted.
I get something similar alot since I've changed to 800x600 resolution ingame. I try to open it and when it should come up with login screen it comes up as a blank gray screen and UE's.

Reboot and I'm good to go, but now I have to reboot about every other time I load t2 when while playing at 1024x768 I'd only reboot every 2-3 weeks.
The problem sounds the same as mine, but I've rebooted to no avail.
I figured it out, it was because somehow the intro avi got deleted, so I went to prefs and took off show intro. Voila, it worked

Thanks anyway
Hummm. If the intro avi just disappeared on it's own, you might want to do a full virus scan just in case. That's strange.
