*Pub friendly server
-no client side maps (unless thyth comes through with map fix)
-website to see stats from pub server with forums for new players to discuss the game and get tech support etc...

-Packs
-Skiing
-Positions
LD,LoF,HO,Cap,Farm,HD,HoF
-Scripts


I really would like to get our community involved in helping draw more people to the game we love.


I need volunteers to head up a couple of committees.

1.Beginner Videos
-Need you to work with and recruit volunteers to make quality videos to help new people who may come to T2.
-Make bullet points for the video makers to cover in each category
-review videos to make sure they are of appropriate quality to release

2. Exposure/Social Media
-Recruit people to spam social media and flood other games' sites/forums to acquire new/more people
-Follow up to be sure all events are being spammed
-Be "cough" relentless "cough",in your pursuit

3 Public Server
- My vision for this is to create a partnership with TribalOutpost.
- Add a forum section for the Pub server on tribal outpost to accamodate new people
- Add stats like we have for SCP pub
- Server really needs to be pub and new player friendly NO client side maps
- Need Admins to keep the inevitable douchebaggery to a minimum

This is my rough draft

Over the next several weeks I plan to get busy coordinating some of these things.

I can't edit video for shit but I would definitely help with writing, finding or creating demonstration footage, and whatever.

i can help recruit 'at-risk' youth through my christian outreach program. i have been a community leader and 'big brother' to hundreds of thousands of visible minorities i believe could benefit from tribe, and its colourful cast of characters.

Anthem or Socrates should be able to make a great "beginer video"

As long as the anti cheat doesn't affect interpolate, this looks pretty good.

without retextures, no one will want to play this game with all the bloom and EFX(getit?effects) of the new games, t2 is a dino unfortunately

a full game retexturing wouldnt be that difficult to zip up.

lets get some high def skins and terrains and throw em into the base folder of the download file

Can someone show me a Screen Shot of what this might look like ?

I posted about T2 on PC Gamer and a couple other forums, I forget, a couple months ago. Got a lot of views, not too many responses. Some nostalgic comments. Seemed a few players remembered the learning curve.

I want to recommend my game to this friends but the huge learning curve against pros is a bitch. It's hard to have fun when someone way better than you is trolling the server.

Either way, I think it's a good idea and want to see a new player base. Or at least a few more old players come back. So I support the noob server idea, assuming we have an admin to cover it in the name of fun.

I like all of this. Unfortunately I'm very busy this month and cant really do much except spam other forums.

the making of higher res textures and skins isnt the issue. i think the engine or the game client has to be slightly altered to use them and make everything look FABULOUS. elsewise its just different color schemes on the same blocky stuff

is this the same redeye that i had on 2 tourney teams in a row that both went to the finals and didnt show up to anything?

How about we get a real Tribes 3?

Is this some attempt at a Tribes 2 revival by recruiting people to play the game that have never heard of it before? Then you want people that are good at the game to "be nice" and not try hard mode against them so they don't cry and leave because of the learning curve?

the main problem with Tribes 2 and getting "new players" to come and play the game is that the game was made back in 2001. Meaning the graphics are pretty shitty to todays standards. If you want Tribes 2 to live on and get more people Tribes 3 needs to be made and be made an exact copy of Tribes 2 - just with updated graphics, working anti cheat shit, and in game goodies like the browser.

Hi-def skins for t2 would still look like shit compared to any video game made within the past few years.

Just need a new game. New Tribes. That isn't T:V or T:A

I got like 2 ppl maybe more to install the game but theyre not happy with the lack of ppl in pub & they are old players. Hey if we can all get 2 ppl each to play regularly then we should be fine w/ new numbers.

despite the shittiness in general of modern military shooters, we know a lot more about good movement and game design than we did when tribes 2 was made

the movement in tribes 2 is really really clunky and the combat in tribes 1 and tribes 2 has always been pretty terrible. For example, everyone slides fucking everywhere, it's like you're running around on ice skates. Directional changes are also incredibly sluggish.

Modern tribes should bring the basic movement physics for duels/combat to a reasonable level

um if you're skiing you have really good directional control.

T1's skiing and movement control was crisper from my memory. Always liked its physics better.

yah i like t1's physics more too, but its combat is still really really bad (worse than t2 base's for sure)

and as a package t2 is way beyond anything t1 could hope to be. so much more depth

will agree, t2 classic is the better game. T1's physics, T2 gameplay, and smart expansion of it along with well thought out maps. Seems simple enough!
