hi.

as many of you may know I stream a lot when I play video game on the intranet. I play a lot of T:A because yes I personally enjoy it. It's not T2 but it's better than the modern alternatives.

with that said, people that are new to the tribes series who play T:A (which is pretty much everyone) definitely have an interest in learning/seeing t1/t2 gameplay.

people want to see this gameplay because it's cited/referenced so much when speaking of T:A and potential changes to T:A's physics, etc.

attention brought to t1/t2 is attention potentially brought to t:a...because of this, if I stream t2 on my channel at twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/AnarchyAo) then I'll be able to advertise the game through T:A outlets (t:a subredit, twitter, T:A facebook, etc).

If given a few days in advance to prepare and make posts, etc we could potentially have 150+ viewers for the final broadcast of the last match of this season's draft tournament.

if you care to put aside your ego/pride and you want people to actually watch you play t2 (which I think would be cool, it adds value to what you're doing) then just let me know and ill organize it.

I'd need a top tier caster. boss dog casted last night and he did just as well as any t:a caster if not better (he doesn't have madden NFL voice syndrome). id prefer to say absolutely nothing. I'm not so good w/ camera work but my stream is probably top 10 on twitch.tv in terms of technical quality (5k video bitrate, 192k audio, 720p, 60 fps).

I'd prefer either 2 casters that are really good at balancing the talking load between each other or one caster who is good at what they do.

that's an idea. I'd have to talk to GG about it. we could even do multiple POVs since he has the ability to stream in a decent quality.

I think it'd be best if my twitch channel were the primary channel that it's broadcast on but only because my channel just has more traffic right now so it'd garner more attention for the final match. GG would probably agree with me on this, ill have to talk to him about it.

is the HUD that craig used publicly available, if so where can I get it and any scripts you all suggest I should have when observing/streaming just post links here.

I only had my personal scripts for the VOD that I listed in my original post. It was really hard to track people via default score HUD.

the T:A people who generally know how tribes is played couldn't keep up too well because the flag is such a hidden object (relatively speaking) when it's dropped in the field, etc.

craigs hud is not publicly available, and thyth is pretty careful about giving it out. That said if you talk to him you might be able to get it. pretty sure GuitarGuy already has it.

You don't *need* it to cast though, and it some ways it might be better for you to do camera without it, while the guys that are casting are using it. Maybe. I don't know.

I do think this is a good idea. For all of GG's casts last season we posted VOD threads on reddit that didn't have terrible responses. I have no idea if it turned into players or not though.

i dont think its a good idea to keep private things that could help the game gain attention. this game will never be populated again but that doesn't mean people can't be entertained while watching people play it.

it also makes these tournaments a bit more exciting for the people who are playing in them.

if nobody is willing to share a hud so the game can be streamed and make observing it easier to see what's happening around you than id rather not help out with streaming matches. it's a bit disrespectful. that observer hud shit should be available publicly, don't be dumb.

and VODs are never popular unless it's starcraft or something. this is tribes and we'll be lucky to have people wanting to watch when it's live.

we would need to make people aware of when this happens, they'll only watch if it's happening live.

word of advice if u happen to get that observer hud, hopefully u can turn off a lot of that shit because it ends up looking real cluttered... last season's finals with GG looked like too much shit was on the screen (health, energy, name, etc popped over everyone's head).

i do think having the names at the very least helps people follow the action immensely

There is an ObserverHud script out there Anarchy, I think its on slingscripts somewhere.

I can probably help cast if no one else wants to, I can probably even get a new headset/mic for the occasion.

also...guitarguy are you here? if you guys dont mind i really would prefer to have him cast it, I just like the single cast method over double and three casters rarely works.

If guitarguy is okay with it i may just add him as an authorized broadcaster on my stream for that evening. again only reason i think we should use my twitch channel is because is has a bit more traffic. It doesn't matter how much you tell people to go somewhere else they still won't all go, that's just the way it is, idk why.
