For various reasons I won't go into, I am uninstalling Tribes 2. Generally I feel like I don't get back what I put into the community- or at the very least I am not being met halfway. So it's come to my attention that I need to be putting my effort elsewhere.

Call this whatever you want- call me whatever you want. But I've listened to feedback, I tried to improve, and hopefully to some this showed. For the rest, I really don't know what to say. And I really don't feel the need to explain myself to the haters- I leave knowing if most people were in my shoes, they'd do the same.

So peace out guys. Great games all. I met some awesome people who I'd probably like to game with in the future, had some good times. Saw many new players find a role for themselves in comp and truly flourish. And you guys will be missed.

Maybe I'll be back sometime. IDK though. I need a break from this.

It's not that big of a deal to be last pick. Just stop spending your time making jump pad maps and spend more time pubbing and improving your game/watching demos of good players etc...

Nah, Rooster did put a lot into learning this game. He is a decent pick .. but I'd probably feel for shit too being last pick meaning you possibly gonna benched, and that's no fun .. I'd just take it in stride but then again .. I've been playing forever ..

Just reconsider. You don't know how things are gonna play out.

rooster, seriously, just take a break, maybe sit this tourney out and come back. dont let a few bad apples spoil your fun. you were and are always welcome to hang out in vent. there were far more people that enjoyed your company then not.

p.s theres no way players like you, or supernova or lolcapps should have gone so late in the draft, its just the way these things go.

Sounds like you need to stay away from 1st person shooters in general. Tribes is not too friendly for people with thin skin.

I am pretty sure I was last pick for everyone reason that is possible and impossible. It's whatever, you are young if I recall, like 20. I say this as a 31 old gamer who was about your age when I was hardcore about tribes. I can relate.

Every gaming community has turned into a group of Elitists, who know and have mastered every element of the game, or at least think and act like they do.

This community is even worse because they are elitists in the real sense. This game is so old and has had over a decade of comp play with 1000's of different people. People will speak with a bladed tongue because there isn't a sense of humanity when you aren't actually in the room with the person. Understanding that, in my mind, is critical to understand why ppl act/say the shit they do and how to handle it.

Your the type of person who would ask questions should a honestly good person just walk up to you and offer help. You would need to know if the help your receiving is it, or is there more you can milk out of it. You and people like you are the reason for many failures, No I don't know the names of the people keeping this game afloat, in fact from my post you should have gathered that, as I never dropped any names. But Seeing how I know exactly how your kind react to anything a person could ever say whether virtuous or trolling, I will stop here as far as my care for this game has gone perhaps you can inform through your own personal thread, No Help At All from anybody will be appreciated, considered, or otherwise cared for. if you are making this thread for attention it should tell you something.

but, if you want some tips i'll give you some.
-don't be so annoying on comms. you make sounds and stuff that are really random (just what i experienced the few times i was in the same channels) and without knowing you it's a little strange(are you drunk?)
-do some research on how to play if you want to improve yourself, see what players have done in this game and then use some introspection and determine for yourself how you want to play, ask lots of questions
-if you want a fresh start and still like to play, take some time off t2 and come back as a smurf. play a different way however you want to. if people ask who you are don't answer. if you are found out shrug and say yeah i'm rooster. what of it?
-if you want to leave forever gg's in life, cockface! /seriousbizz

I do think you need a break. I've been away for a while, and you've been working very hard on new maps and seemingly trying to revive the community. You will never get back from this community what you put into it. It's the price of leading and being passionate about this hobby. You, me, and many other tribes players, and probably gamers in general need to learn moderation. I hope you will realize that if you're looking for something from these people, us, you won't get it. Step back, re-evaluate what you want, and come back with less expectation, less serious, more zen. I hope you do come back, I like your art style, and willingness to experiment with maps.

the last pick probably was from ppl thinking youd have expectations to play more than you should bc you made the maps... not bc you were the worst person in the draft (which you are not)
