Season 4 in April

We will take a bit of a break prior to the next season. Since T:A is picking up speed, we will also aim for a slightly smaller player pool. The format will change in the following way as a result:
- 6 teams rather than 8.
- One division.
- A longer round robin phase.
- Only the top 4 teams advance to playoffs.

The schedule ^Rayne has worked up is as follows:
- Sign ups open April 1.
- Draft on April 15.
- 5 weeks of round robin matches.
- 1 week off for Memorial Day.
- Semi-finals and finals in June.

Honestly you need take players like Acclaim, C54321 and DarkOasis and put them as LAST picks only. Or have it so only admins get to pick what teams they go to. We totally got screwed over by these three people.

Not to mention everyone on Anthems team. Just don't let them be early picks.

You can't ban people for missing 1 week (even if it was championship imo)

You can/should ban/restrict people who barely showed up throughout the season

Missing players can actually be an advantage. I have missed like 50% or more of the matches over the last three tourneys and my team has been in the finals all three times and won twice. I say Acclaim et al should be 1st round picks.

I am not sure I would say we are "aiming" for a smaller player pool, more like anticipating. I am also open to leaving Memorial Day weekend matches up to a captain's vote, but in the past I know teams have had problems fielding teams that weekend. We still need more volunteers to captain for Season 4. Talk to me in IRC for more info.

Not even remotely a troll. Also, a few other facts to consider:

A good portion of any good players T2 has left will have moved on (fully) to T:A by the next tournament.

T:A is in the stage now where you will get left behind if you decide not to play it

T:A is actually fun enough at this point to be played over T2.

If you're dumb enough to participate, you will end up not being able to make a good portion of T:A related scrims/matches due to conflicts (or vica versa).

its not even released yet. you could just wait...til it's released. i mean i came in 8 or so years after u scrubs played tribes 2 10 straight years and did well. i think with enough practice you could play T:A comp whether or not u played in beta.

T2 is still far superior.

But T:A is going to have ladders/lans. An overall thriving competitive environment. I wish TWL would pick T:A up and start running ladders.

T2 is where my heart is, T:A is where the people/competition is.

I think the T2 drafts are still going to be successful.

This would cause a 2 week break between the semifinals and the finals if teams needed a break for Memorial Day weekend, which has historically been a bad week for tribes matches.

The other issue with drafting too soon is that the website Brandon is working on for signups -> draft is not yet complete. Waiting gives Bran enough time to finish it.
