IFC22 .dll replacement for Tribes 2

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2012-03-05 · 9 posts
This is a drop-in replacement for the Immersion Force Feedback support library used by Tribes 2. You probably don't even know Tribes 2 supported it because Immersion was really only good for joysticks.

It loads the TribesNext library t2dll.dll and intializes the necessary code without any patching of the executable file on disk. In addition, it lets you make and use vertical bars and lets you see flag and base markers in observer mode.

Usage:
Copy the IFC22.dll to your GameData directory. Make a backup of the old IFC22.dll somewhere just in case.

Check your clientPref.cs for:
$pref::useImmersion = "1"; // enable TribesNext

OR

"Enable Force Feedback" in SETTINGS -> GAME.

Note: some of the code is redundant if you're using the patched tribes2.exe created by TribesNext, but it shouldn't cause problems.

IFC22.dll replacement for Tribes 2 v25034

- Loads TribesNext without modifying tribes2.exe on disk
- Disable class B subnet check (TribesNext)
- Enable .vertFill property and .getValue() method (l33thax)
- Enable observerFFI
- minFov = 0, maxFov = 360 for ALL cameras

If you want to try some vertical HUDs I added to UberGuy's freeHuds script, get freeHuds.vl2 and bind a key in Options.
Cool, observer flag indicators and objective markers will be neat for casts etc.
Awesome. Thanks for this. Going to make my frantic observing a lot better now that I don't have to fly around looking for where the flag is.

These mice came out around the same time T2 did. Totally useless because having your mouse vibrate while shooting is a pretty big handicap, but this was a big reason why T2 had that code.
Haah. I remember when vibrating joysticks/controllers were all the rave.

Funny.

If you use shoutcaster_lite_fixed.vl2 you can switch between flag carriers with a keybind. I noticed you were using the score hud which takes longer.

That's my copy, I can't remember what if anything I "fixed" or if it's different from what you'd find on slingscripts.

Nice! I have observer HUD by I'd rather have this. Been looking all over for it. Observer HUD always bugs and auto grabs flag carriers when I set it to be off. Thanks for the lite version!
New version uploaded.

Added:
- minFov = 0, maxFov = 360 for ALL cameras

Now you're no longer constrained by 120 degrees of FOV. If you're a widescreen (like Eyefinity) you might want to change it to something like 150.

Note: Scripts like UberFOV won't work if they're coded to never go above 120, you'll have to edit them yourself.
