discuss why 14 man is stupid

too much clusterfuck, logistical nightmare, strategy/timing gets thrown out window on many maps, doesn't reward skill as much

i know tribes players are notoriously awful at fps games that take aiming and tracking skill, but if you spend like 15 minutes a day working on your aim 90% of you wouldn't suck so much ass and would not be totally worthless in a 7v7 or 8v8 format
i like 12 man better. 10-12 i think is ideal for most t2 maps. just my 2 cents.

12 man is still fucking awful. more than 7v7 is fucking horrendous logistically. I still can't believe how badly tribes players understand competitive game balance. Comms are a joke with too many players, you can't possibly keep track of all the clusterfucking, it marginalizes the best players, etc...

imo this is one of the nicer things about higher numbers
i did not quote that rite but i think it is ncie that way 2

that's the antithesis of playing a game competitively.
I like 10-12. I do agree that with 14 comms suck, but 7 man is boring.

how is 7 man boring? It offers tons of strategy and rewards skill the most.

not really if it is a team game it makes the team part of the competitive more important and every player more equal
Proj, you remind me of the kid that sits in the corner and pouts while watching the other kids having fun.

Fact is, the only reason you dont like the 12v12 or 14v14 format is you cant play with your SNH buddies. Nobody is fooled by your shroud of pessimisim.

the team part is less important because it ruins the strategy and it's impossible to coordinate that many people.
did u knew its impossible to coordinate more than 7 people? I did not.

hyperbole, but it's pretty fucking hard. professional football players fuck up their coordination all the time and their livelihood is based on it.

idk maybe u prefer individual skill over team play and some guy want team play over individual skill

personaly i like both

strategy is relative stuff

u sound like stork when he cries about wanting to play LT

Lots of things are hard. Case in point:

Seems to me that the solution is to spend 15 minutes a day working on coordinating more than 7 people at once and your main complaint will be solved?

you're talking muscle memory vs an intellectual skill
no im talking about derp aderp derp... derp derp derp, derp, derp derp, derp aderp derp.
nothing wrong with 12man.

da prob with communication is over communication.

ppl say the most obvious and basic shit over comms.
then some ppl say shit that isn't relevant at all.

u can b bad @ tribes. u can b bad @ communicating.

the best is keeping it 2 a bare minimum. then it is very ez 2 run strat/cord/time.

as long as blowhard bob doesn't decide to say "oh ya i just got a big ma u guys have 2 c my demo"

or detective dan doesnt say "ya that faggot is cheating i am talking 2 celios about this after match no way this shit will stand"

then u r good.

LOL this is exactly wat u do in t1

gfg LOL
7 man is boring because it is the bare fucking minimum you can have for T2. 3 men on d, you are so limited as to what strats you can use. Want a farmer but have to have a hd? Tough luck, you need a lof and ld. etc, etc, etc. It gets boring.

we've come up with some pretty creative ways to play defense in 7 man. You're limiting yourself if you think you need an lof and ld

wut? how often have u played t1 on vent with me?

u can ask celios or JT about my communication skills. ppl who have actually experienced playing with me.
i meant about accusing ppl of cheats with youtube videos

crying about bad ppl making 10v10 boring and wanting to play only LT

and pimping your demos out but taking offense when ppl think they r pretty lame

its exactly the same shit as proj does here

LOL
I nailed 2 ppl as cheaters with 2 utube videos.

as ladder admin it was my job to do so.

i cry about wanting to play LT when a bunch of LT players try to play base.

the majority of the community likes watching my demos. for some reason it offends u when ppl say they are good or i am good.

proj talks shit and doesnt play.

i talk shit and play. i dont talk shit behind a stacked team. i also win tourneys.

what do you do dare? oh nothing like always.
spin things all u want to save face here ego of justice

i couldnt help seeing the similarities between proj;s attitude in t2 and yours in t1 is all im saying

I get all confused when dare starts making sense.

I also love that projs biggest complaint about 12 or 14 man is a built in excuse for if he ever does play.

aim is the least of ppls worries in 7man comp
14 man is stupid. It should be 14 person team. Girls like to play tribes too, you know.
No one cares.

In other news, proj is starting to sound like an LT sympathizer.
I guess I agree with proj, but his overly simplistic explanation is pretty rough. Let me explain.

As an LD 7man is a huge pain in the ass. An LD must make constant real-time decisions that can drastically affect the game. Team communication and individual skill take a back seat to smart play. Being in the right place at the right time to make the correct play is really what 7man is about. It really separates those LD who understand the flow of ctf from those who can just shoot well and take orders. This skill is much harder to observe and understand.

14 man, on the other hand, showcases team leadership and communication, as well as highlighting individual skill. Defenses must constantly communicate what's going on in the "clusterfuck" to stay on top of the offense and put the proper players in the proper positions. As long as there is a decent captain behind the defense the individual players don’t have to worry as much about adjusting. Players placed in the less dynamic 14 man positions can more freely show off their skill at the position. This skill is much easier to observe and the majority of T2 perceives this "position skill" as all there really is to LD.

This is also why proj talks so much shit about Stork. Stork is a fantastic 14man lof. But 14man lof is practically child's play compared to 7man LD.
if there were more squeezes we would have more amazing teams no matter what the sizes
stork would excel at 7 man as well. perhaps not at daves level right off the bat but soon enuff. the guy didnt have too much time on the ladder before it became totally stagnant.

ive played with a lot of good ld over the yrs. and stork is right up there with the best of them

I find 14man lof on certain maps to be much harder than anything I've experienced in 7man. More HO spam and more cappers to worry about.

I would also like to point out, during my time on the 7man ladder, Proj has gone 6-1. I've gone 14-2 playing on much lesser teams than he.

the guy is a straight up chump who's actually afraid of real competition. he put himself on his own level above everybody else, now hes afraid to actually have to prove hes on that level.

hes a carmelo anthony LD. stats and makes ppl say "ooo" but the dood aint got what it takes to carry lesser skilled teammates like jordan and kobe do.
Proj is just someone that really cares, and now, 10 years later, it's his time to shine. Can't you guys let him have that?

stork would get clowned on by any good offense just like he did against stack and hack. he's only benefitted from the fact that every other team's offense is so horribly incapable that it makes him look not terrible.
david is so cute wen hes angry

u still havn't faced a good offense. i guess knights running all over your ass is the closest thing you'll see.

man I would have hated losing to a 14man offense with non-elite players on it.

good thing that hasn't happened.

I'm the one that our offense tests our strategies out against. When they are successful 50% of the time against me, it means they'll be successful close to 90-100% of the time against scrubs like you.
what do they test out?

"ok u run that route ill run this route while u spam from that qfire point and other dood sits on a hill"

I really hope bohemian grove challenges SnH. I am going to laugh really hard.

what you guys call "advanced strategies", is hilarious.
