buy a rig for crysis, that way you buy a rig for everything
I wouldn't bother building a rig for T:A.... just look at the format, what the fuck are they doing, it's not CS with jetpacks, we wan't more than two weapons per armor type YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKERS...
T:A is UE3 - it'll run on most 2-3 year old stuff, let alone a new PC you build yourself right now.
I just built this PC for $~550... runs every game on max, love it so far (including copy paste from newegg if u wana look up parts):

Motherboard: MB ASUS| M4A87TD EVO AMD870 $104.99

CPU: CPU AMD|PH II X4 955 3.2G AM3 RT $113.99
(AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2Ghz)

Videocard: VGA DIAMOND|6950PE51G HD6950 1GB $239.99
(Radeon HD 6950)

RAM: MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL8D-8GBRM $84.99
(8 gigs GSKILL)

HD: HD 750G|WD SATAIII WD7500AALX $58.99

+ dvd burner / case / power supply / fans

hope that helps, works great for me

lol. good advice redeye. taken to heart. thx.

never gone the amd or ati route.. probably will buy some quad-core from intel along with a gtx 560 or someshit. asus has always made good boards and will most definitely be buying another from them. will do some reviews on what's out there.

they have monitors out nowadays so that i can hook up my cable box somehow to it and then switch back over when gaming? psyched about getting a new monitor! mmmM 27".
Don't buy AMD cpus right now. They're shit compared to intels offering. Their graphics line up is pretty decent though.
put ur dick in it
Yeah, AMD isn't good right now. You can get better performance per $ with Intel. Just do your homework.
AMD is only good for video cards because they bought out ati

Vid Card i wanted- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0342820

I had to return one cuz the fan was hitting the inside of the case and another due to a hole in the box.

They upgraded me for free to this- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0365382

Hard Drive- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0334293

Power supply- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0361181

Case- http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0339423

Ram is cheap.

The only probs i had was only cuz i didnt go directly to the AUSU site to get all the drivers i needed. Now she is smooth as glass.

Im looking for a good mouse if anyone has advice.

I did mine on a budget, but if you have a little more room, the 2500k and a aftermarket HSF will OC very well, so ive read.
If I'm correct in my understanding they are using the unreal tournament 3 engine for T:A... so if you want to build a rig that handles it well there will be loads of info out there on the interwebs on machines that handle UT3 well.

And considering UT3 was released 4 years ago in 2007 means you can build a rig thats well able to handle the game at over 150fps for a few hundred dollahs nevermind your $1200 budget if it doesn't include a monitor.

Personally get a nice i7 quad CPU and spend 20 dollah more on a decent heatsink so you can overclock that baby by 50%, combinded with a nice gfx card and you'll be pissing all over T:A and even battlefield 3 for your $1200.
