I agree but why would it be illegal to have colored mines to help you see them but legal to have colored chain tracers to help you aim? Just things like that. Or something like QFire that lets you basically remember a target and not have to even use your own aim but you can't use automatic waypoints that you don't even have to hit c hud. Kind of the same concept?

all in all Im pretty happy with twls ruleset. but heres my 2 cents.

huds, wp scripts (non-auto), info/organizational scripts such as a loadout script, cc scripts, or flag call script, custom flags,terrain,sky skins, team msg scripts, gui, are the bulk of what I personally think should be allowed.

what I believe should be illegal:

hm2 and the like.

things like dios grab watcher which autopoints ppl that have grabbed yer flag. autopoints as well.

coloring something for deliberate contrast.

ip (yes, i buy some of the argument for or at least the theory of it, but in my mind, it just gave the cg a buff, a weapon which was already the most versatile and potent in the game, and t2 was fine w/o ip. that said, it being legal doesnt bother me in the least.)

modified sounds, having starwars shrike blasters isnt a big deal, but a blanket rule should apply so ppl that think theyre clever dont search for something that was overlooked.

to avoid a wall of txt, my take is basically this. most reasonably intelligent ppl can figure out for themselves if a script they are searching for is legit or not. and if not, the rules are easy to find on this site.

dont be a fuck, dont be overly concerned with points or other players opinion of how good/bad you are, make the smart play instead of the cowboy play, and learn from those that kick yer ass and you will be fine. no need for bullshit to give you an unfair adv. the inevitable outcome is ppl making threads about you here and celios banning yer ass. poor tradeoff imo.

I used 2 main scripts when playing...Flag drop timer and Pilot Mode. I could have easily lived without the timer, but you really needed a sens script for shriking once base++ and classic came out. Other than custom skins for flags, people, and textures I dont see why anything else was needed. Ive been anti cheat forever, even though I have friends that cheat on every game they can. I just dont see how people can get a feeling of accomplishment by winning a match/pub, or even doing well in one, with cheats or a ton of scripts. I never agreed with ip, or the legalizing of it, and is the main reason I havent been back to play T1 or T2, my 2 favorite games of all time.

I think in Banshee's prime he might have gotten to the 2nd tier-3rd tier border. But yeah, banshee certainly was never a clear 2nd tier quality player. Firmly 3rd tier talent.

ZP and I will someday have a show "Rated" in which Banshee will definitely compete as one of the most overrated players of all time. A mediocre 20 pinging shriker who always had elite clearing.

I know your talking about buddy points. Anything that can be done manually, and is just streamlined by a script is not a cheat, ie buddy points. Although a few exceptions are out there though and can be debated, and it's up to the player if they feel "ok" useing them.When things go from streamlined to fully automated (just for instance auto-flare), the line does get blurry. But auto flare has it's drawbacks , ie it can waste alot of flares unnecessarily.

But not to confuse anyone while "buddy point's" is legal....,"auto-points" is a cheat; and a quite powerful one. If you have a good sensor net, and constatly refresh. It's almost like perma-IFF's, well a poors mans perma- IFF I guess.

HD is a harder position then people make it out to be. You have to stop top HO and if you can then yes it is a position that matters. That player on certain maps is the deciding factor of win or loose.

'x' and 'v' are really both really close to the 'c' button so it can get pretty tricky sometimes
ive even heard tales of people's fingers slipping all the way down to the spacebar! you can only imagine the aftermath of a mistake like that

HD is way more important than people seem to think. There are some people who are really great HDs and can distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack. These people turn average teams into really good ones.

It's more than that. I have a demo of me HD/Farming/HoF against a team I actually think you were on. Where I had to fight off 3 HO at a time and if I remember right you were on it. It's harder than you think especially against top HO like Darkstrand, Codeman, etc. Especially on a map where Gens are important. So yes it is harder than blocking doorways and looking at CC, seeing as how most places have more than one entrance.

I mostly play HD, ever since DS taught me it. It's probably my favorite position, that and HoF. And when you really try to get solid at it and stick to it, it becomes tough.
