i'm trying to make a 'Stripped' Perse to save FPS, and general screen space.

If someone could link to me to these scripts, if they exist, or tell me if they are even possible, thanks in advance.

So I have the Split Chat Huds for Global and Team, but is it possible for the chat to 'minimize' perse and only show up when there is active chat, stay on the screan for a certain amount of seconds, then go off again?

Script that breaks down your inventory, weapon, and pack huds into a really really small box with nice and small text which would look something like:

X (Amount of Ammo you have for active weapon) P (On or off if you have a Pack, and different colors for P represnting the different packs) X (Amt Grenades, again different colors
for different grenades) X (Amt of Mines) Y/N (Repair Pack Yes/No)

Thats it for now.

There's obviously a little more to this than what is listed, but i already found or scripted the other stuff.
Hopefully this can be a release this weekend or something.

Yes, timsta's hudpop.cs will give you the chat hud and weapon hud popup ability. It works great.

ego ammo hud sounds good for your inv stuff, like ammo/nades/mines/rpack. it replaces the default ammo hud with 4 little numbers, it rocks but it requires support.vl2. it has everything you ask for but the pack activity status, i use DioPackHud for that, it puts a ring around your reticle when your pack is active, and changes color for each pack.

this script can also hide your inv/weapons huds, i have both of mine hidden.

you only need egoammo hud. it replaces the ammo hud and if you open up the .cs file in the .vl2, you can turn off the weapon and inv huds.

seems like a waste of time imo... there already exist a good number of lite stand-alone scripts out there that are not going to eat up as much cpu time or hog as much memory...

the only thing you would gain is the lack of pretty huds...

it takes a mean machine to run T2 well... most of the scripts out there are prolly not likely to bog any of these systems down... (unless you're running every PJ script known to man_

of course if you're still rocking a 550MHz then...

here's my config, ignore the dots, i was trying out gay autopoints. i need to update my ss too, i have the kills hud set to 4 lines now, 6 was too much, and no more autopoints..

You are completely wasting your time trying to make a stripped version of Tribes 2. Tribes 2 isn't like Tribes 1 where scripts would slow you down ALOT.

You could have 300 client side scripts installed in Tribes 2 or only 2 client side scripts installed and you won't see any difference in FPS (unless you installed something written really stupidly, like something that uses a bunch of for loops to parse text constantly).

And you won't gain any FPS removing things from the screen either.

But a number of those things are done already. If you check some of the scripts and huds on my site you can get a very, very minimal GUI.

But remember this few scripts will not speed up your FPS.

What's the point of a T2 stripped pack? As someone's probably already pointed out, if your machine can run T2, you're not going to see a difference in fps running less HUDs and scripts unless you're running an absolute ton of PJ scripts.

If you're really worried tho, just run without scripts.

the point of a stripped pack to me is to reduce the clutter ... and let me see more of the screen. Propack comes close but i want more screen.

pro pack doesnt get rid of the ammo hud ... i want those off ... also i want the energy bars ... but not the compass. i dont pay attention to it anyway. just stuff like that man.

The above is an ignorant comment. I and others have proven there is absolutely no FPS difference running ever PJ script and running none.

You could run ever single script of mine and have nothing displayed on the screen at all other than the reticle and waypoint if you wanted.

Propack is definately not the only way to go clutter free for your screen.
