Would you like a Gauntlet Ladder?

I'd like to gauge how much interest there would be for a Tribes II Gauntlet Ladder (for Base, Classic, Both, Whatever). If there is enough interest, we'll put up a ladder to accomidate it. If there isn't, there are 15 other ladders you can join

For those of you who don't know what Gauntlet is, read up on it at this site: http://gauntlet.tribesarena.com/
Heres the brief summary of it:
-Team Dueling. Two teams against one another.
-One player from each team spawns in an arena like environment, optimized for gauntlet play.
-Players duel eachother. Loser gets knocked out of play (and is out till the rest of the round), Winner stays in and duels against another member of the other team.
-As soon as all the members on one team are eliminated, the winning team gets a point. Repeat to 5 or so points.

In other words, its a combination of duel and arena. The entire team's dueling skills are tested just like in arena, but individual skill is critical, like in duel.

I know a lot of arena and duel folks have been waiting for us to put up a ladder...so now is the time to speak up. Get gauntlet here and try it out for yourself.

Do you guys want this or not? Any and all feedback is welcome.

What size teams are you thinking?

I'd be interested. I'd prefer to see like a 4v4 though. 5 seems like its hard to get everyone there and signups are slow. 2v2 gets a lot of signups but even more no-shows. There has to be a nice medium

I love gauntlet. More so than arena cause you don't get stuck in those 2 and 3on1 situations, and its more exciteing than just joining some duel server.

You will need the map pack to play on there though. Sometimes me and some friends jump on to the server and start playing, lots of fun even with a small ammount of people.

Only problem that I have found is that the Gauntlet support for the objective HUD messes around with the objective HUD for Arena, and I think everything else (It always makes Storm the highlighted/top thing on there, regardless if you are on Inferno, kinda messes you up)

Think 20 teams are interested?

20 Teams? I don't know about that, i still get a lot of "Gauntlet who?" when i talk about the mod so.... i bet you could have at least 10 teams first day the ladder's up.

If rael can get a working version of gauntlet suited for twl competition i would love to have the ladder, the current version i have installed on my servers is a pain tho =/.
None of the pref files save, continuous mode crashes the server, bonuses don't seem to work, & tournament mode still has the deadly "observer bug" (when you enter the gauntlet fighting "."), a few maps will have to be "tweak" from their current versions.
Would take some time for Rael to get all that working, but i would love the idea of having the gauntlet ladder.

Gauntlet rocks.. yes.

Would probably be a fun ladder but like Ark said, there are still bugs in the mod.

Elmo, fix ShrineII. The spawn points on that map are horrid. Spawn points inside walls, inside objects, outside, on invos. That map shouldn't be in rotation in it's current state.

Yeah, once the code is stable. I'll make the "Envy Duel/arena server" into gauntlet.

I think elmo fixed a lot of it already. I hope he did! shit. I can't wait for it. I'd make a team for gauntlet.

I would do the same, but I've had the same problems with it too. I tried putting ALL of the bonuses on and everything, and it still never worked.

Only thing is, I havn't seen Rael around in a LONG time, but Elmo would know more about that then anyone

if a gauntlet ladder is made, i would rather have one ladder to begin with; not three. three ladders would spread everyone out too much. 2v2 or 3v3 would be nice though

I wouldnt mind playing on a ladder since its only dueling and u dont have to have schedueled practices and such.
But only if they fixed all the bugs first. TG is fun as hell.

If there are more gauntlet-ready servers (preferably west ), then I am more than down for some TG. It was underplayed (perhaps because of bugs) earlier on, but still fun as hell. I think adding a TG ladder would be a good move for not only TWL but the community of Tribes 2, as it provides a competitive link between duelling and arena ladders. Could call it a go-between..
