I'm pretty sure T2 only records player information if they're visible to the person recording the demo. This script might give you some freedom of movement, but it wouldn't be the same thing as watching a server-side demo.

I remember asking him about that at the time and I think he said that once a player comes within your scope you keep receiving info about them no matter where they go on the map.

Lou is busy getting banned from Tribalwar for being a fucking freak who keeps real life information on forum members/tribes players.

He probably has your full name, date of birth, hometown, current living address, every phone number associated with you, and a list of your current and previous girlfriend(s).
GOOD LUCK FUCKER!

The problem I encountered and never had the motivation to fix was overriding the movement commands each packet that placed the camera in the location it expected it to be. The problem isn't as simple to overcome as T1's DemoCam. T2 doesn't respond to user input for movement or view changes when a demo is playing so everything would have to be interpreted in some other manner.
Freezing a demo camera to the same spot during playback was already possible, as was/is watching the demo from another player's perspective. Free flight observer mode just isn't something I care to work on anymore with T2 in its current state.
