Buck - agreed, but we can only really post about those we know or have played with/against.

Mine were based on the large number of matches, scrims, pickups and pubs that I attended in the last year. If I hadn't played you or your team, I wouldn't have any reason to list your name

Of course many others could be listed, even a top 20-30 list wouldn't touch all who could very well be the "best" T2 player at any specific position. It's all based on opinions so nobody is wrong.

I'm always amazed by that BBJ guy. Versatile and good with the ladies. Whether its running MF or lining up tail at LAN parties, he's teh ladies choice for 2002.

gray may not be the best capper yet. but he will be. I saw him make a move on our LD (including myself) on surreal the other day that left me shaking my head.

I just pointed out that Cav was naming the "best" players when there's no way he could have evaluated them all. That's all - no need to get your undies in a wad - jeez!

A lot of damn good players on [KY] - and other Clans - that get no recognition...either because they're not forum whores or because of sorry players like me on the team bringing them down (but that's another thread all together). I was making a point by naming 2 [KY], but I'd still take either one of them for my LD.

For the record, with a few RARE exceptions, you have to be screwing up royally to get kicked off a [KY] server

Ya um, to the guy that wanted me to mention the [KY] dudes, i've pubbed with those guys maybe once or twice. How can i rate them against the best based on that?

People look at good play differently, which makes the debate all the more interesting. I mean it'd be better if people blatantly didnt include their friends & teammates, but whatever, the best players will shine through.

And i didnt even know it was possible to go into 3 OT's on Minotaur. |Rx| & {$A$} should upload some demos and share the excitement. Only way we'll feel the same drama that you did.

I'd like to stress people to upload demos, share your T2 competition experience wtih everyone. We've all had bad days when we play, its nothing to be embarassed about. Its just really gay when people upload demos only of maps which they had high scores and on maps which their team won.
The demo library is lacking so pathetically right now.

Many people get angry when Classic is still considered inferior in competition to old T1 and T2 Base. Well hey, people uploaded demos. Whats the hesitation, why dont you?

Maniak is correct. I am the biggest fairy EVER.

I think Conjure and Hcats need some more recognition. These are two players I can count on for anything. Conjure plays any and every position and does it excellently, and hcats is the meanest HD I've ever played with. He can easily compete with the rest of the names mentioned for base defense/farming.

EDIT: Kriev-xy is getting better... and quickly. Maybe next year he'll be one of the most improved players.

just a note:

I take these ratings as a lot more credible when the player in question plays their position extremely well even under heavy fire and a ruined base.

not to disregard their skills, but I rarely see Mr. Vernon staving off a massive offense singlehandedly (mainly due to the fact that Rapture's offense and midfield is so effective).

by the same token, Dragon has gotten praise for his bbing and sniping against Ascendancy on DX. While his skills are evident, I wouldn't say it's a good means of evaluation to critique a player who doesn't have to deal with HO, SJ LO, and a multitude of other things while trying to BB and snipe the same cappers (that is, our offense and defense were woefully lacking on DX).

i mean no offense to these players at all and I'm sure they're extremely skilled, but I take such ratings with a grain of salt when one considers the context.

my best memory of 2002 was playing with awsome people who, most of, i got to meet (if not already).

as for great players, i dunno so hard in this game... but people that i really have always been impressed with are (Yes, i know this is a "Teammate shoutout") Trem_r, Blotter, Big-Old Neofight (please come back someday, we love you!) and Riddil and Wyrd for giving me such an enjoyable expierience, you guys are the best.

OMG I forgot to give Croc a shoutout. Not sure if I'd say he's the best farmer of all, time, but he has the best turret matrixes for sure. His BR setup could probably hold the flag with no LD.

And JustChillin! My favorite deployer because he's a derm. And sexy. ;]
