10 v 10 Petition

So yah. With 5150 dropping TV, and 2 of the other top teams less than a month from doing the same, more people are reverting back to Tribes 2 every day. I think its time to up the ladder size a little. None of this 7 man anymore (teams have enough to make 1-2 more teams with their current roster).

and this is for classic. None of that base bullcrap.

i think it would be smarter to wait for said teams to materialize personally.

in the meantime, just cause the ladder says "7man" doens't mean you can't agree to play with more if both teams are ok with it.

AGAIN? geez...i don't think our petitions will get us anywhere =/ I proposed that month or so ago, and they said no. We had another thread here week + ago and looks like they told them NO as well

This is what they are waiting for, before they put the effort into a 10 vs 10 ladder

I have already talked to NR about this and this is what he said:

No one told you "No" but then again a month ago we had roughly 10 teams on ladder. 7 man ladder has doubled which is good but this doesn't indicate the amount of players some of you would suggest towards putting the 10 v 10 ladder back up. 20 teams x a minimum of 10 members per team means you need at the very least 200 players ready to go. Now add in the semi active, etc and you need a heck of a lot more players to keep any team active.

So you say "hey, take all the players in 7 man and you have enough to start the 10 man ladder." True, but are they all going to be interested in that ladder as an adder to the 7 man or as a replacement for the 7 man?

I believe we don't want to divide and sub divide the community of T2 players to quickly with multiple new ladders. Currently I know of three ladders of interest beyond what is provided now. Hopefully we can work through the mixed interest and provide newer ladder options shortly.

Agreed.

Additionally I want to see if this T2 resurgence is a fad (as many past T1 fads have gone) or if it has staying power.

most of our matches for 7 man have been 8v8 or more. IMO, its too early to tell if all said players of tv will actually return, but i would like to see a 10 man ladder as well.

We aren't quite there yet for 10 man, IMO. Among the 20 teams, 3 or 4 are completely inactive, and the rest normally struggle just to get 7 players on the field for matches.

Should have a 10 man ladder and players added by random gen.

get some more 7man teams before you start proposing 10v10.

I agree keep it at 7v7. I personally think if the other team agrees to do more people then do it, That is the good thing about the rules here is there is no limit to the amount of people you can use. Aslong as the other team agrees. And if the comp was upped to 10v10 I think the ladder would easily be owned by some teams. (Basing off the currect rosters)

I agree. Even with more players comming back I don't believe there are enough to support a 10 man ladder.

I can see 7 man hitting second page within the month. If things keep on track, 10 man will be feasible pretty soon

Oooh, kind of like a tourny. We need another tourny to take advantage of the small resurgance we are experiencing just now. Nixfix, Bugspray, and Belial told me in the last few days that they would all be willing to run such a tourny. I thought that was nice of them.

a t2 draft tourny might be an interesting idea to see how many players we can scrounge

I'm coming back to t2 by the end of this week. Anyone know where I can Dl it, I lost the cd and fileplanet stopped letting people dl it! If i don't find a place im going to go buy it, wonder if best buy still carries it.
I'll be looking for a clan, I played HO competively with PE, ZU and and finished with KY. I play LD in t:v so I'll be giving that a try to. Stop by #clampdown if recruting.
