BEML League to have B++ option

Last night the captains of the Blood Eagle Mini League had a vote about moving the league to B++ and some tribes were on the fence. We decided to add B++ as an option to each team when they schedule their matches. The default for the BEML is 10v10 base matches, but each team can negotiate higher player numbers and now can agree to B++.

Last season most games were played as 12v12. From the gauge of captain interest it seems as though half the current teams would agre too B++ matches and half would stay with Base. At the end of this season if more matches were played using B++, then the BEML will very likely switch.

The new season is slated to start (tentatively) the first week of September. If you think you may be interested, head on over to the website and read up on the rules..if you act now you can probably get your team to enter the probation period and if all goes well make it into this coming season.

Congratulations on The Peacemakers for winning the season 3 championship!

Glad to hear things are going well Daolin. Teckman is right, though. CompMOD should be out in 2 weeks, or so. Time to change for that.
Think the problem is that the BEML still has teams that prefer Base over Base++ for whatever reasons...might just be from lack of Base++ familiarity. Anyway, instead of screwing these teams over, the BEML reached a compromise to try to make both sides happy. You don't see that often these days. I'm sure the BEML will consider the Compmod as well when it comes out but in the end it's up to the league as a whole to make the change.
way 2 suk Gayru

wtf?!

too bad you are doing it as a mixed ladder, i bet if you separated base from base++ you would have 20+ teams interested in your format. oh well, my team isnt doing both, we just do base++ and prolly move to comp mod once it is established.
ive never understood why the beml existed. T2's fanbase has fallen steeply over the past 6-8 months...losing well over half of its original competing players. TWL is not the juggernaught it used to be, so why do the beml guys not come to twl? If we could combine the T2 ladders AND get rid of the wack mods that keep noobs noobish, T2 would become a much larger arena for competitive play and a closer community.

It's for teams that just want to have "fun" and not worry about heavy "competition" or something o:
Most of the BEML teams are on a TWL ladder or two as well. The TWL does a great job after all, and there is no question that it provides a great venue for the top levels of competition.

The BEML continues to exist because the emphasis on good sportsmanship, the neighborhood feel, and the seasonal format appeal to some teams. It's a "for fun" league for some. Others play their hearts out. But what's consistent is the mutual respect between the teams.

We'd like to be able to move to separate leagues for the different physics models, but we just don't have enough teams right now to make 2 or 3 leagues viable. Perhaps it will be possible next season.
thank you for actually explaining it and not flaming your ass out like i expected.

I think you guys have the right attitude, "we have a league, if you think it is for you, join, if not No Problem"

However, i bet if you tried a base++ only league based off same concept as the base, you would have no problem finding 10-20 teams interested. I could almost guarantee it. Build it, they will come, i know my team would. We tried doing base and base++, it got to be too much and really killed our ability to excel at either. so we chose one, and we stuck to it. I think alot of teams did the same.

either way, goodluck
sups dao =) BEML rox!
