there were about 500 threads about a 64 fps cap i know but i seem to have a 100 fps cap here what was the solution, as when i had win 98 (or was it me) b4 i reformatted and installed xp i had a good 110-120 fps with some crap drivers and not overclocked (geforce 4)

Its the same problem you just have your refresh set higher.

never read the 64 fps cap threads so thats just under the driver page correct? under the display prorperties advanced butotn then u can set it there?

yeah. Its just limiting your frames to your refresh. Make sure you grab tweak program and ensure vsync is OFF. I know it says it is off on the advance tab but that doesnt mean it really is. I use the GTU and it helps a ton in tweaking the reg settings to improve the performance.

Win2K and XP are capped at 100 fps
Certain MOBOs are capped at 64 fps
Any dual CPU machine is capped at 64 fps

Next patch will change these limits.

I have teh same issue you do Kiwi. The Beta patches I have tried though fixed this cap. I was getting 155-160 FPS on quagmire with the beta patch

P4 1.8ghZ
512RDram
GeForce 3 OCed
60 & 80 gig WD HD 7200 RPM

yes i get a good fps i have nice system xp 1800 @ 2000 + geforce 4 but i also have a machine that i play on that gives 15 fps so pls quiet :-)

I seem to be caping at 21fps... but thats probably cause I have a TNT2...

Well obviously PJ, staring at a wall during the course of a match will help you attain 147 FPS. ;]

Would a higher FoV decrease your average FPS because you can see more action on your screen?

I know it wouldn't be a big difference in FPS, but I was just wondering

the more i zoom in, the lower my fps, therefore i would think a higher fov would get you better fps. I am capped @ 64 on my r8500, never used to be.

I have XP, and get over 100fps quite often. With the beta patch I average right around 100, its over most of the time.
