12/10/08 - TWL Scripts Updated

Please note that due to the multiple kick issues with the previous scripts these new scripts will be MANDATORY for all week 8 league matches regardless of the date the announcement says they will be mandatory.

This release will solve all the map MD5 kicks which is why I am mandating them for week 8 play.

Thank goodness. I was starting to wonder why PB thought we all were using our woodland outpost hacks on WC.... Rediculous!
If only these were out for week 7
I gotta ask.

I havent' played at TWL, or been responsible for maintaining a game server, since PB scripts have been implemented, so I'm just going off what I've seen from being a forum troll. I remember using the old CAL scripts (and then I think having to remove them for CDC) and it always being a pain in the ass. All season it seems like there have been multiple threads of people having problems with kicks from the pb scripts, so it seems like a hassle that kind of impedes gameplay. I'm curious, from an anticheat standpoint, how much more effective is it at actually catching or preventing cheating then just running CDC alone?
It is pretty effective and can catch some things CDC can't catch and CDC can catch some things the scripts can't.
One of the major problems since the release of 2.8.4 was that the multiple different download versions (patch vs several different deploy client methods) were generating slightly different MD5s.

I can't really get into too much more detail other than that todays release will resolve the multiple kick issues. While they are not mandatory for ladder play immediately the quicker teams upload them to their server the quicker we can put these headaches behind us. That is why I am mandating them early for league play (week 8).

So then, i'm guessing, when 3.0 comes out, for one golden moment, there won't be patches and everyone will have the same version and these problems should go away?
Due to recent issues, I have updated the scripts once again.

    Changelog:
  • Corrected SoundVolume CVAR.

I guess it was accidently set to 1.0000. I believe yesterdays fix resolved that.
