I'm not here to rant, but I'd like to point out that delaying Week 7 until the first may be a little short-sighted. It seems to me that while there will certainly be players out of town on the 24th, there will likely be far more players out of town on the 1st since it's a Monday following the holiday weekend.
The decision to postpone the match a week was obviously made with the best intentions, but it seems to only be a half-solution. It's common knowledge that getting the season finished out before the New Year is not a possibility, so why the rush? If the match is pushed back to the 8th, that gives EVERYONE ample time to get back in town and be prepared for the match.
I will personally be out of town until the 4th, and I know there are other members of my group who will also not be available on the 1st. It's unlikely that we are the only group who is going to have this problem.
