Demorec's...

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2013-10-24 · 20 posts
When I start a demo the sound changes and sounds very laggy/muffled. When I stop the demorec it returns to normal. Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me? I tried it in 2 different servers and I get the same result.

I added them to my armyops.ini and it didn't help. I still get the muffled sound when recording.

It works fine for me.

what you could do, is just find every single instance of it to false.

There is more than one entry of that.

Just use Ctrl+F to find them all.

I changed it in User.ini too I think.. can't remember.
I added it to my armyops.ini at the end and also changed all instances in my user.ini and it is still doing it. Sooo annoying.

If the ini fix doesnt work (which for some reason it doesnt with some people) then type "DemoRecToggleSound" (without the quotes) in the console after you start a demo.

That worked thank you. It would have been nice to have this fix during out match last night but ohhhhh well.

Feel free to stop trolling anytime. The constant whining about cheaters is already old

In your armyops.ini insert this:

[Engine.Actor]
bDemoRecSounds=False
bDemoRecMuzzleFlash=False

This should have corrected the issue.

But please note that you cannot make this change while the game is running. . . it wont take effect and it will rewrite the INI to what it originally was.

i did that and it critted me like crazed
Does it matter where I put it in the armyops.ini? I tried to put it in the middle somewhere, and put a space above and below it to seperate it from the other commands. I also put it at the end. Neither one worked for me. I didn't have the game running when I made these changes. Can I just use the DemoRecToggleSound? It's a pain and an added step but it worked.
Have you edited it in your User.ini? It does not go into the ArmyOps.ini file.

I remember testing this before it was released, and it was put in the ArmyOps.ini, however im not sure where. Let me take a look at the posts about it and get back to ya.
Thanks, I have put it in both user and armyops and changed them all to false. Nothing is working. Only thing that worked is the DemoRecToggleSound. Which is another step but it works. Whiz I have been adding to my user.ini for a few patches now so who knows what version I have now.

In my build it shows this in the "ArmyOps.ini":
bDemoRecSounds=True
bDemoRecMuzzleFlash=True

Under:
[Engine.LevelInfo]

Check that and see if its correct. You cant just cut and paste shit into the INI if its not under the correct Sub.

This is probably why -aud.Jonny- had the issue he had.

Tried it and didn't work for me... I'm thinking because I save my armyops/user ini's from previous versions that any updates they do to these files wouldn't be reflected. I will do a fresh install and see if those lines are in the default armyops.ini.

*Edit:

The default armyops.ini did have the text in it which I didn't have before, but after I changed it. I get the same problem.

Go through both the user and armyops ini's in detail and make sure there's only one instance of the two settings, which should only be in the armyops.ini. If there's other instances of the same settings which say "True" this could override your "False" settings.

Only one instance in the armyops.ini but many are found in the user.ini. I changed them all to false before, but still didn't work for me. The only reason I keep both of these files is because it's a pain putting in all the settings over and over... I guess I'll just do the toggle command and call it good. Thanks for the help.
