Info for Vista 64 Bit Players

I am in the very initial stages of working with the AC Team on a plan to test the feasibility of using X-Ray AC for America's Army in an upcoming tournament. There are several issues and questions that must be addressed behind the scenes before we can move forward with this plan. My targeted start date for this tournament is September 14th. More details will be forthcoming.

Just to verify what Russd3 has said, we will be looking deeply into this possibility.

CDC is still the best Anti-Cheat program in any League/Ladder Competition.

However, the growing number of players that are not capable of participation is not tolerable either.

Rest assured, that all the testing that is possible will be done before we release this to the entire community.

This is not an official announcement that we will be going to be using a different program. This is just a post to let you know we are trying whatever we can to solve the issue with Vista 64.

I see that you say CDC is still the best Anti-Cheat program in any League/Ladder Competition. How many players has it caught cheating in the version 2.8.3.1?

This is also fairly offtopic, but why not make a list of the players who do get caught so it's publicly known. There is no benefit to hide it.

If you get caught cheating on CDC, you get permanently site banned which shows up in your profile like this. We don't list the reason for the ban because we don't want cheaters to know what CDC picks up.
I don't think Jonny meant post everything about their ban...but CAL has a separate topic for everyone who has been banned for one reason or another (cheating, smurfing, apparently threatening an admins life - rabb), and that would be neat to have here as well so we know the whos who and what not.
If they've been caught cheating on CDC, then it's listed right there in their profile. Compiling a list of all the banned players and the reasons would take a very long time considering that TWL has been around longer, has played more matches, and has banned more players for various reasons than any other league.

Aside from satisfying people's curiosity, what would be the point of taking the time to list all the people who've been forum banned?
You can and you should.
I don't think he was asking you to go back and list people who got caught from day one. If you started to keep a list starting today, I'm sure that would be quite simple to keep updated.

Giving a list of cheaters and listing their reasons is just like giving instructions to build a bomb... cheats try to get more sophisticated by the day but they cannot without knowing what they got caught for.

I'm talking about a list as such:

Banned Cheaters:

Swift
Brett Wilkie
Xblade
Omi
Stk
Whiz
Sani
Alkali
Illusion

Then have a reason next to it such: caught via cdc (date here), past bans, doing something stupid etc

You can't counter this argument, if you try to, you are just a moron.

side note- so say we have a dude with vista 64 bit on our team, can we have him play w/o cdc if the other team agrees or can he not play twl because your anti cheat client is not up to par with newer operating systems.
He can play IF the other team is ok with it.

As far as listing the reason someone is banned that is not going to happen. So many people have been caught that it would take ages to put together such a list. Also, If we tell a hacker what file we caught this helps the cheating community by telling them what we have detected. If a cheater has more than 1 hack on their system this might leave them not knowing which one we detected by leaving them in the dark about it.

Yeah, We have done this numerous times due to one of our members having Vista x64. The downside is that alot of teams are asses about it.

What do you not understand about what I am saying? If a player is banned, the odds are he won't be playing for another team. And since he isn't on another team, people would have to search for him and find his banned account. It's just a hassle.

THIS IS NOT WHAT TO DO:

Player name: STK caught by cdc for cheating during a match on 7/12/07 using glugbot.ini

THIS IS WHAT TO DO:

Player name: STK caught by chc for cheating during a match on 7/12/07

Leave out the file name, i didn't say to include that.

If your reason for not doing this is now that it will take too long to do, then give me the appropriate access to do it for you. I'm sure myself or others in this community would gladly take the time to do something that should have been done ages ago.

I agree that listing the file name caught is a benefit for the cheaters, they know what is and what isn't detected. Leave it out, but make the list. Plain and simple.
Not my call one way or the other. The AC team has already said they won't be doing it.

This has gone way off topic from my original post. The end.
