ok i have a 750 mhz compaq p.o.s. with 128 sdram and a geforce2 pro. i can play generals (barely) for skirmishes only. campaigns lock my computer up and when i try to play online it kicks me off (also shit) AOL. i recently purchased some more ram that should put me at around 300 some and i was wondering if this should be enough to let me play generals online. also when playing direct connect with omni i can play for as long as i don't move. as soon as i move the mouse it breaks the connection between us.

i figure that it is because i don't meet the online standard of 256 but i just wanted to know what you guyz thought.
You are hurting at all points with your computer. Besides the hardware you are on aol. If you had dial up with any one else it would be a little better but aol dialup is making you go even slower. I don't know what to suggest. I just uped my computer since it had been about a year since its last upgrade. Now is a P4 2.4 with ti4600 512 PC3200 got rid of my two 15k ultra 160 drives because got tired of all the fan noise in trying to keep them cold.
um, well his video card "SHOULD" be able to run the game...

i think a big deal is: The requirement for online is 256 DDR (i think...) not sdram...so you are hurting even at 300....and of course it wouldn't hurt to upgrade your processor...but RPGs are very ram heavy

and yes, aol definately gives you another kick in the ass
yea i know it sux. i'm getting a brand new computer within a few months that either i'm gonna build or custom make. but lets face it that is a few months of not playing generals online that i can't take anymore. as for 56k i'm stuck with it til i go off to a college because me and omni live way out in the boonies (omni doesn't even get cable) so i'm stuck with it as long as i live around here.
