yeah, the rockets match is like a lil bit boring... You take a smg, you shot the guy, he has the time to shot a big bullet and explose ur head, this is just boring all those rockets...

I beleive the realsim admin has a thread to discuss the realism mod.

As for rockets, TWL has no intention on bannign them at this time.

As for the banning of rockets? No. They shouldn't be banned, but limited. 3 seems to by a good number to limit to.

Some maps show true skill of a team. Other maps completely favor one team. With the ability to camp with rockets and guard each entrance/exit with 2 rockets.
Which is a strategy, fine. But that is what makes this "competition" boring.

I like the teams that no matter how good or bad they are, no matter what map its on, they will come to you and bring it. I would rather lose to a team with skills than one without.

As for the maps, i think this how i would do it:
Map 1 - If ends in a tie, a new map will be played.
Map 2 - If ends in a tie, a new map will be played.
Map 3 - If ends in a tie, a new map will be played.

Simple as that. If they dont want to come out of the spawn point, lets play a different map. I would rather lose to 6 camping snipers than 6 camping rockets.

Maybe to tone this down and show real player skills and not "strategic camping", maybe there could be a new ladder.
Ex: Limit 2 rockets per team. 2 grenades per weapon.
(No, the rifle does not deserve 4 grenades, I believe it's one of the best, if not the best weapon in the game - if you are skilled with it, if you arent skilled with it, use something else.)

Yes, the use of rockets and grenades play a MAJOR role in strategies, but they are over used.

Competition is one thing, but the inability to move outside of your spawn point just as the map begins is lame.
(Unterseite - both sides can just camp with rockets and wait for the others to peek throught the 2 enrtances/exits. - but i like the map)

I just like this game, the ability to compete against other players is fun. But spending the ENTIRE map time camping not moving at all is boring. All I have to do is connect to the server, join my team, and watch tv. Ill end up with the same score.

You know, if you NEED the rocket to win....
(This is my opinion - no need to get mad cause you need the rocket! ) Execpt for lag days, which its ok with me!

I would go for the limiting of the rocket, banning it would be too much. It is a tactic I suppose, but do you really get satisfaction out of winning with a whole team full of rockets? I know I wouldn't. Because I would realize that if my team had used less of them or none at all things would of been different.

(damn, that's a whole lot of I's)

I will never be proud to win with rockets for sure. We shoud give one atomic bomb for each team that can kill all players, like rockets do.

You know its lame on 2v2 so you take it out, you can still lock down a map with rockets on 6v6...but no one does anything about it....heh..lame, please wake up people

Seems that, there is a lot of teams who are afraid to play without rockets...Spearhead should create 2 big bomb for each team...No they can't rockets are already there.

you two can continue bantering all you want, but it's just the fact that you are afraid to go up against rockets. i bet 50% of the ppl FOR keeping rockets are the ones who don't like to use them. i know (myself included) a lot of snipers love rocket whores, why? b/c they are an EASY TARGET run slow and cant' even shot you w/o coming to a complete stop. quit b4 you look REALLY stupid at this.

Cause the ones who takes rocket camps man. Thats the reason why it's boring. There is no fun when you camp with all rockets in ur spwan. If you have fun to do this man...ur my hero. well i wasn't going to comment in this thread..grin we have gone up against some of the most notorious rocket/grenade user clans and faired just fine..so don't talk crap until you have your facts straight..wanting things to change and the the ability to fair well with the way things are..are 2 different things

Ok, the rockets stay, all good. But the realism mod needs to quit bein changed over and over again. A fact's a fact, not everyone will be happy with the mod 100%. It was bad enough that we have to have a mod for the ladder cause it's a pain in the a$$ to have to keep puttin it back in and takin it back out for every match. It's even worse when you go to play a match and the other team states; "you got the wrong mod in, it was changed yesterday"(with no notice I must add.) Just keep the stupid mod the way it is so we can all get used to it cause there is no way everyone of us is gonna be happy with whatever changes.

What the hell are these changes to the realism to which you speak? I may be wrong (doubt it) but user_MPSH_REALISM_v.twl.pk3 is the current realism and has been since July 6th

There are discussions about changing it and I'm sure it will be tweaked in the coming weeks, but the mod has not changed yet.

as a clan leader and/or server admin, you should check the forums fairly often. also, the realism mod changed once from stock realism to MPSH, and then shortly after to take out the silenced pistol and the other various changes, these did not come "all of a sudden" and they didn't just all change right after each other. as well, the last time the realism mod changed was 7/6/03 (a month + 1 day from today). so if you are bringing up old problems from a month ago, then this post is late and irrelevant. now that we've dealt with the rockets problem, and the realism mod changing problem, i think this thread is done with.

p.s. i never said you couldn't "hang" with the rocket users. i also think it's not fun to go against a team of rockets... but that's from one angle, the other angle, the fun is in the challenge of how you are going to counter this "defence". maybe it's just me and my nerdy self, but the intelectual side of this game, and the "on the go" strategy making is half the fun.
