We would have to look into teh patch itself before deciding if it's sanctioned. I will add that if all players are running 2.15 patch there is no butt scoot. When I run my server pure the only scooters I get are running 2.11 when asked. If all players are using 2.15 it shouldn't be a problem.
we have tested the 2.15 patch in our server with sv_pure on with only our members and we still see some butt scooting! and i know we all have the 2.15 patch!

sometimes the patch has messed up. You think you have 2.15, it says you have 2.15 when you type version, but the reality is it didn't install correctly and you can connect to a pure server and somehow still butt-scoot. This happened to at least one, maybe more of our members. Only solution is a complete reinstall. Then there will be no butt-scoot.
2.11 can get into 2.15 pure enabled and checking version doesn't always work. On top of anythign coming from an MPowell I don't trust. Isn't he one of teh oens doing hacks? hmmmm
I have done a complete reinstall and still see the butt scoot sometimes! something needs to be done! Is there a way for us to modify the patch to rid it?
we tested it on our match between [wAc] and going postal and i saw no problem with it. Maybe we can get Grin Reaper to post his thoughts on it here.

Anyway, yes, MPowell was doing hacks, but I heard about him leaving the dark side months ago. At that time he said he was going to work on helping the community. I am perfectly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I havent heard of anything nasty coming from his desktop in a LONG time.
Despite his past, if this patch fixes the buttslide then it need to be tested and it needs to be implemented!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i tried the test server with the mod ( you can't call it a patch, it's simply a pk3 you load onto the server, aka "mod" ) and found it worked well, but it was boring. I don't see the butt-scoot as much as before anyway, but i tell ya, i like seeing it. I like seeing my opponents twitch and writhe under fire, it's gratifying. ______________________________________________________________________
A friend of mine was entering our server with 2.11 while pure was on. I saw him do the buttslide and asked him if he ever installed the 2.15 patch and he said no he hadn't done anything to it since I was at his house and loaded his game for him.
As far as ex-hackers go I've seen so many claim to come over and still put out hacks sometimes using smurfs. Way too many. I will test this pak file but I will be vary wary of it. I will share my findings with the SH admins when I am done.
FYI: you seeing the buttscoot has nothing to do with what version you have, its what version the person being shot has. And it really, surely, does not happen when the patch has been applied correctly by everyone.
well i know that everyone in my clan has uninstalled and reinstalled to be able to get to pure settings. All of my guys that could not connect had the 2.11 patch. As for someone that likes seeing the buttscoot, well your a sick puppy...lol...reminds me of a dor running around with worms scratching his ass!...lol

the problem with the butt scoot is that you can shoot while buttscooting and hit ppl... but you are at the same time, invincible. so if you buttscoot, your attacker could unload a clip into you and do nothing, and you could spray n pray and possibly get a kill (i never tested this specifically first hand, but i think i recall that happening and seen othe ppl post the same thing).
as far as the patch, i looked at the desc. on mohadmin.. it takes away all pain animations. i.e. if you shoot some guy and he flails his arms.... he won't do that anymore. i use these things as indicators as to if someone got hit or not, especially going pure, and not having a small blood mod. as much as i don't like the buttscoot, i haven't seen it in a while (i.e. it's becoming a rarity) and i don't wanna give up everythign else just to get rid of it for those few times. so if it was up to me, or at least if i get to vote, i'd vote against it.
I hardly ever see the butt scoot anymore but In one case I apparently did the butt scoot. The person who shot me and saw the butt scoot and I were both using 2.15.
