RO Official Playoff Information

First off, I'd like to apologize to the RO community. I'm sorry for the delay of playoffs and the lack of communication between the admins and you players. As you can see we had a bit of reshuffle going on lately and I just received the RO league last nite. Hopefully I can find a middle ground with the RO guys and we can have a competitive, sportsmanlike playoff.

Playoff Format

- Top 8 Teams will compete in a bracket playoff.
- Each bracket will consist of a best 2 out of 3 match. Your team needs to win 2 maps to advance to the next round.
- Match format consists of 1 CTF map, 1 SnD Map. If a tie breaker map is needed it will be HQ on Toujane.
- Final Playoff Bracket
Each finalist team will be able to pick 1 map(including gametype) of their choice. Best 2 out of 3 still applies with the tie breaker map being HQ on Toujane.

Maps

Playoff Bracket 1 (Tuesday October 30th)

CTF MAP - Decoy
SnD Map - Carentan
Tiebreaker - Toujane


Playoff Bracket 2 (Thursday November 1st)

CTF MAP - Matmata
SnD MAP - Burgundy
Tiebreaker - Toujane


Finalist Bracket (Saturday November 3rd)

Map 1 - Team 1 Selection
Map 2 - Team 2 Selection
Tiebreaker - Toujane



Notes:

- A playoff bracket will be up shortly.
- There is no need to playout the SnD matches once a team has reached 13 rounds.
- Home team gets server selection on the first map and the tiebreaker map. Away team gets server selection on the second map. If there is a ping differential problem, find an admin
- I have tried to schedule this before CoD4 comes out. If all goes smoothly this playoff will end on November 3rd.

If you have any question regarding the playoffs, please post them here and I will do my best to provide you with a quick answer.

he was in 6 ro matches, all disputes from those matches were clean, if you think he was cheating in any of those then ask an admin to review it and we will submit his demos

We are currently discussing this situation. I will have a resolution by tonite.

In that case DARC shouldnt be 8-0 because Azimov got caught hacking to.

so in that case 1ck, darc, crux should get punished as well as they all had players banned for cheating....I dont think the whole team should be punished because of one player

re-read what the rule states... who in crux got banned that played in any matches for us?

wasnt aware of someone in 1ck getting caught? and that is interesting... how many matches did azimov play in?

I have removed the Standing for the RO League. Due to recent evidence, I will have to reorganize the playoff spots so that the proper teams get the spot they deserve. I am still confident that the playoffs will start on the 30th. Thank you

OK, for the last few hours I have been going through screenshots, demos and talking to fellow admins about the RO League. I have the final standings for you that will not be changed.

A few notes:

- The players that were banned from TWL on DARC, Crux and 1ck were banned by Punkbuster and not caught cheating in a TWL match. Therefore,

III. If you are caught cheating or hacking on a Pub or in a Scrim:
A. Player banned from TWL for 1 yr.
B. 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

- If the player was caught in a TWL match however,

I. If you are caught cheating or hacking in a TWL Match:
A. Forfeiture of the existing game.
B. Player Permanently banned from TWL.
C. Team will forfeit any match (for the present season) that the offending player was proven to have played in.

With this is mind, here is the Final Standings:

2 Changes:

- A2K has been removed from the playoffs due to a player caught cheating or hacking in a TWL Match. Taken straight from the rules.

- To the Point receives the 8th playoff spot. Teams Average Joes, Ruthless, 1Click Killaz and Death Policy all move up 1 spot-- according to our point system.

it's truly sad that this game has come down to so many caught cheaters in any team...

I still have respect for a2k as I would hope they would for us with azimov and it's a shame that they should be removed from the playoffs like that

this is why hacking is bad for everyone and i hope everyone would take note - a2k is a good team despite one player

this was the only thing I was really looking forward to to end our cod 2 run but I guess the team has to pay the price for one guy and although I am a bit pissed with that decision, I understand it

Since he was caught in a Ladder match not league....If he was caughti n league then the I. If you are caught cheating or hacking in a TWL Match:

C. Team will forfeit any match (for the present season) that the offending player was proven to have played in.

rule would take effect...

In all truth, it sucks for a2k to be removed from the league, but you let darc stay even after azimov was caught. The fair thing for twl would of been to remove darc from the league. I'm not saying removing a team because of one player is the right thing to do but each situation is different with each team. Last season we were removed after making it into the playoff's because a player on our roster had circumvented a ban and twl thought that I knew about it. We were not only removed from the league but were dropped to last place in all rung's of the ladders. Bottom line, ghost is a good guy if he hacked or not.

Even though I dont play anymore it is a good choice going with the HQ for the tie breaker on toujane. One of the best maps for the gametype/game period.

Regardless of League or Ladder, A2k's player(ghost) cheated in a 'match' under TWL rules. Screenshot evidence has this player in 6 of 8 matches, putting A2k out of a playoff spot. If A2k wants to blame someone, they need to look no farther than their player that was banned.

In the case of Azimov, he was banned outside of TWL by Punkbuster-- outside of league/ladder play. His ban according to the TWL rule set is as follows:

III. If you are caught cheating or hacking on a Pub or in a Scrim:
A. Player banned from TWL for 1 yr.
B. 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

No penalty given towards his team.

The key issue here is that Ghost was caught in a TWL match where as Azimov was not.

In your own twl rules, it says if a player is caught in Ladder the following happens...

He got caught in a ladder match so all the penalties of the ladder got applied, he was not caught in a league match so why are league rules also being implemented?


In the league matches he played we had admins speccing and even disputes which he passed

I am just curious that is all?

You have removed an important line from your post. I have underlined it here for you:

If you are caught hacking in a TWL Ladder match and you also play in a League, the ban covers both Ladder and League. Simply becaue he cheated in a TWL Match. I hope this resolves any questions you had.

Good luck to the 8 teams that made the playoffs. Wish we could have been one of them. In any case Good Luck :-)

The schedule has been set up so that the finals end before CoD4 comes out and so that it works around League nites from TWL(SnD) and CAL. If both finalist teams agree to reschedule the last match(Saturday November 3rd) than that is acceptable as long as its not delayed more than a couple days. I think the consensus here is to finish this playoff before CoD4 starts.

Why don't we just go Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday?

I could honestly give a crap when cod4 comes out...

I mean I'm anxious to play, but anyone who takes this league seriously ... like everyone who actually reads this forum.. shouldn't care.

We should just make sure everything gets played right... and finish the game.

i agree.. i think the playoff teams would all agree to finish it right rather than worry about cod4.. i think 3 days in a row woul be better than weekends

Ahh, what a big nice ending to the cod2 RO league..

A2K was always a classy team that trusted ghost, unfortunalty he was cheating (i knew it lol)
