Based on whats left, and how the season went; please post what you are looking for as far as playoffs go. The plan is to keep them relatively short, while still utilizing the same dual gametype format, with a predetermined TB. We all know this makes for a long match; however, it gets rid of the whole "you only beat us because it was this gametype".

So lets hear it .. # teams/format. Cut the crap, deliver the info guys.

Want it to be over before our server runs out at the end of the month

Map 1 Brecourt CTF
Map 2 Tripoli S&D
Map 3 Leningrad CTF
Map 4 let the two teams playing pick the map. Rock paper scissors or something.

I say this because I am disgustingly tired of all the same maps, throw a little change to it for what will probably be the last major COD2 RO League.

By saying 'dual gametype format' do you mean that the playoffs is only going to be sd and ctf? If so I believe this does not get rid of the "you only beat us because it was this gametype" because every week there would be one gametype twice. i.e. I think there should be three gametypes per OT playoff match( My vote would be for HQ). It seems like I recall in the past I heard people say, 'well if the OT would have been ctf instead of sd then we would have won' or vice versa. Also, don't know about this but what about possibly shortening the halves to like 10/12/15 minutes or shortening the # of sd rounds to not make the playoff matches last so long. Just some suggestions...

Tie Breaker should be HQ as it was played this season. I think it would only be the fair way. I didnt vote for the gametype and I think many didnt even bother to BUT either way it should be included as the tiebreaker. Utilize it in the playoffs, it is a good change for RO rather then sd/ctf.

Make it 10-15 min half for ctf not 20

Quarters: Tripoli
Semi : Toujane
Finals: Carentan

you guys that vote hq dont get it though, 1/4 of you want it and the other 3/4 dont..they just dont voice there opinion...idk how many teams you could tell didnt give 2 shits about the hq matches but it was def. the majority of the teams....keep it just like old seasons sd ctf, as for OT, do something other than hq because with radio icons, its the lamest gametype there is...

Dont care on maps!

Get rid of HQ only one or 2 teams want it! why make the rest of us suffer. If you cant hang in ctf/sd then you need more practice. And you can argue the whole season if it wouldnt have been this gametype we would have won. Keep playoffs like last season.

Objection. Use HQ. It's an awesome gametype and doesn't get nearly the attention. It is the last viable season for this game and it would be great to give it some use. Plus, it really tests out which teams are good, and which teams just strat a bunch, even though a lot of the radio action may be random and/or rigged. It's damn fun and would be a great way to end the game. Last chance to do so.

And you assume 3/4 say no HQ. Well I assume 3/4 say HQ, and 1/4 say no. Since assumptions are cool, I'll also assume you are wrong. And there we have it. I've used your logic to defeat you. HQ wins.

Er... and if you can't hang in HQ, you need more practice. I mean, the same can be said about anything. That's not an argument for CTF/SD.

i would only say use hq when you get the radio spawns removed. then it would be a nice gametype.
Put a vote for team founders and then we can stop assuming.

how about we just let the teams facing each other decide. for example, home team chooses gametype and visitors choose map

I also vote to keep hq, if you drop it now its kinda unfair to the teams that may have lost out on making playoffs by losing on a hq week.

It was agreed upon before the start of the season that HQ was going to be implemented. Now you all "claim" no one likes HQ when I see most teams arguing for it, with CruX and some terrible clan that didn't make playoffs being the only nay-sayers (in this thread at least). 6 have voiced positive for HQ (tacking on Meatsauce to your numbers), from 3 diff. clans.

3 have voiced against it, from 2 diff clans.

Stats can be made to argue anything when you zoom in on a section.

Home/away choosing map/gametype is an interesting idea, but it would have to be more balanced than that, because just one of them could be hugely swayed in favor of one team or another.

Well Wisdom the person the sits on rosters and doesnt play. So u have no room to talk about anyone anymore play in a match this year pal.... Go back to CAL forums seems your liked more there... ROFL HQ was voted on at the beginning of the season with a vote that only 2 people voted for it. And for some odd reason your buddy Syxx put it in the season.

WHY Put a vote cause? That was the only way HQ was supposed to be put in this season was if they got rid of beacons. Go back and read the forums.

Hq sounds good, nice change of pace from the other gametypes. I dont really care what maps there are, customs would be nice though.

I see more people voting for hq here from diff teams then the founders vote who barely anyone visits.

with or without radios showing its still a better change from sd/ctf and will make a great addition to probably the last RO playoffs for COD

but in the end, we used HQ in the regular season, it should be the tie breaker map, being a tiebreaker, you prob wont have to play HQ anyways :o

You're awful. Only reason I come back to these forums is to make fun of idiots like you who couldn't voice a reasonable argument if you had your daddy helping you. I played this season, thanks. Remember? Shat on A2K so they cried in the forums? I was also asked several times to play throughout the season, but my ping/school inhibits my playing time so I gracefully declined. So, in response to your argument, should I be needed and have a good ping/no work, and there is no HQ in the playoffs, I'll be mad, hence the voicing of my opinion now. Understand?

REGARDLESS, my voice isn't necessary. My team has already argued for HQ, as has A2K and whatever team meatsauce currently plays on. Only team I see arguing against is CruX and some team that's already dead, which, by your logic, gives them no right to voice an opinion. THEREFORE you lose.

keep it to the basic maps..

atleast have toujane for snd/ctf purposes, maybe burg for ctf, railyard for snd, dawn for either gametype. and I say keep the times the same.. its the playoffs of the last season of cod2...suck it up and play

You're an idiot, comparing apples and oranges. Changing a league by majority vote BEFORE a season is COMPLETELY different than changing it part way through, as you wish to do with your no HQ shit for playoffs. HQ was added this season because the majority of people in the RO community recognized the fact that this game is already dead, and RO has been dead for ages. They voted it in because they wanted a change of pace, a reason to get more people interested in the last season of the RO League so that there would be a league worth playing in. Now the whiny bitches that didn't want it to begin with are pushing to take it out, as if they are the majority. Get over yourself, Mav. Voice your opinion, fine, but don't pretend that your opinion counts for more than the majority.
In my opinion and in the opinion of what appears to be the majority, having HQ IS THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. 'Nuff Said.
