TWL be using zblock 4.4?
Yes, as it has been released.
Not to be a douche, but I think something like that should be put to vote. As I have read, zblock 4.4 was "codered" or whatever his name is taking CS:S into his own hands and deciding what is and isn't a glitch. Some of the fixes I agree with, but others (like bhopping) is just a power trip. It is a 3rd party mod and will really alter the way people play this game. IMO, its more than just an update, it will cause an uproar in the community.

The changes to quick crouching and bunnyhopping can be turned off via the cvars which control them, even if TWL decides for some reason they want to keep both exploits, they can just modify the configs to include the appropriate cvars. There is no reason to not update to 4.4 unless there is a serious bug with it.

Calling bunny hopping a glitch, is an opinion. They have servers, maps and even events relating to it. Quick crouching doesn't have a server or maps or anything for that matter. Making it a glitch. If the creators of CSS didn't want these things in the game, they wouldnt have put them in it. I personally think getting a headshot and not a kill is a glitch. So I will program a new zblock so when you get a headshot, you get a kill. No questions asked.
In defense of all the BHoppers out there (And being an amazing bhopper myself) It should honestly only take you 5 seconds to realize that bhopping is a skill. Just like Aiming with your crosshairs. You can not simply walk into a server and bhop (Or mordor for that matter). You need to dedicate time and practice to make your bhopping something special that other people cant do. I myself have reached the point where I can see combinations in maps where I can bunny hop and do cool things, which I enjoy. So seeing as it takes SKILL to bhop I say leave that in TWL. If you do however decide to ban bhopping and get rid of it via zblock 4.4 I think you should also get rid of aiming. We should all be able to hack and let bots play, more of a simulation instead of a scrim. Leaving people to learn how to read and edit code to be the best cheater you can be! Atleast then you might learn something.

P.S. If you want a more realistic game I hear AA3 is free.

Snizz instead of just pointing out how every premise in your last reply was wrong I'm going to go ahead and say that whether or not TWL decides to allow the bunny hop/quick crouching cvars will not cause that big of a stir in this community. But I do side with those who say it should be taken out for the most part.

I for one do not think that the intention of the creators was for people to gain unnecessary amounts of speed as they jumped and strafed repeatedly.. Why do you attempt to make a realistic game and then add something as silly as that?

Just because they have servers dedicated to it doesn't mean it was the intention of the developers. I mean, how much fun would a quick crouch or crab walking server be?? ZOMG let me get right on that..

Anyways, I won't be upset either way.. I can bunny hop fairly well but it is something that probably shouldn't be in the game.

As for your last comment, http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Womans-hair-weave-stops-bullet/qNZmAZkqA027DDJSSdMh9w.cspx?rss=68
Oh wait, I guess I did just attack all of your premises... whoops.
And as for Virus, obviously since you have dedicated a solid amount of time in learning the art of bhopping you have a biased opinion. I mean, you would be a fool if you spent all that time and then didn't come to it's defense.

But I will agree with you, it is fun to do different combinations of jumps and it is something you develop a skill in..

Like I said, it doesn't bother me what the ruling is... I just feel that it is unnecessary from a personal and realistic standpoint and I'm sure a great majority of people wouldn't give a damn one way or the other.
It does take skill and a lot of practice, but I see it going away in other leagues, and will eventually be phased out of TWL. Eventually bhopping will be a thing of the past for css and hopefully future iterations of counter strike as well. It is an exploit of how the game was designed.
LG, the main argument I have is that zblock is a 3rd party mod created by someone who has no connection to the CS:S development team. Who are they to be judge and jury?

As for the weave story, as funny as it is, I don't believe it. Re-read the story. I will quote this so you see where I am coming from:

"But that is exactly what Briana Bonds said happened."

Story of the hood rat making the news imo.

Anyways, what we seem to be forgetting is this IS NOT REAL LIFE. Its a video game.

You keep going on about how it's a third party mod so they shouldn't have made a modification which changes how people play the game like that.

Fine, you can argue about whether bunnyhopping should be allowed or not all you want, but that is not what this thread was asking. All this thread asked was will TWL be using zBlock 4.4, and the answer to that has nothing to do with your feelings on bunnyhopping.

If you want to add code to zBlock which made every headshot a kill, I'm sure that they would love the help, but I'm also sure that they would use a cvar to control it instead of making a unilateral decision on how competetive CS:S should be played.
They aren't being the judge and jury.. Leagues get to decide whether or not they will implement the mod, and because of it's popularity in the past and dedication to controlling exploits, I believe they had every right to go ahead and include these cvars to make competitive play more realistic. As I think that was the original intention of it's (zBlocks) creator. You can tell me all day that this is a video game and that it isn't realistic in a lot of aspects... but the intention of the developers was to create a realistic and competitive FPS. zBlock is just one successful mod that has helped right many wrongs.

And like I said, it is up to TWL to decide whether or not to keep it.
Le Sigh at reading the rest of this thread.
It's not that big of a deal if they get rid of bhopping or not for competative gameplay, I just think it sucks that I'm going to have to buckle down and goof off less.
I love not having to try on eX and bhopping around and still winning. If thats gone I will be one sad panda...
I still vote keep bhopping so I don't have to be a tryhard in TWL... I mean come on.... its TWL.....
Bhopping is still in the mix. Just speed at which you can bhop will be reduced. So to speak the super bhopping would be eliminated. I know this will be debated up and down but in the end I don't feel it will really affect the game if it is taken out. Skill maybe, maybe not.
Bhopping really isnt possible any more, like yeah u can continuisly jump but zBlock caps the velocity that your actually moving at, bhopping full speed would be nothing more than running with your knife out.

If bhopping is taken out it would have a major impact on competitive source, mayb not as much in twl but definitly other leagues.
maybe a bhopping 5v5 ladder is in order
Eco and Cevo both said the bunnyfix command is OPTIONAL

To turn it of type rcon zb_bunnyfix 0
Optional to who though? Obviously a team with 0 ppl who can b-hop will want it on, and a team where all 5 players can b-hop will want the fix off.

Who gets to decide?

Wrong.
The speed is so badly reduced to can not bhop faster than you can walk.
Even downhill.

I don't think that is right. As far as I know the home team is decided by either the higher seed or something like that. So, again, makes o sense how you could possibly make it fair.

I would say we will be one or the other. Optional just seems like a bad option.
I was just looking at the changelog, and noticed a bug fix which should make every one of you want the upgrade to 4.4 to take place as soon as possible.

- Fixed the defuse-kit on bomb bug. (video link)
Kit on bomb still hasn't been fixed.
Of course the new zblock will be used in TWL but I say keep bhopping.
Also snizz, the home/away team isn't decided by who's the higher seed.

It's a bit more random than that. And even so, the lower team would most likely be the home team and get to choose.
I think if we made it optional it wouldn't be so bad if we let the server owner decide as opposed to giving the choice to one of the teams. Both teams have a right to play a half on their server so if one team doesn't want bhop and the other team does they just need to make sure that their server is set up properly and info is posted 24 hrs beforehand and they can play a half on theirs.
