To All Clans Who Truly Want To Ensure Fair Gaming !!!

We the leaders of [COR] have implemented a new clan policy that I would like to bring to the attention of all responsible clan leaders.

To keep [COR] members honest we have begun to do suprise inspections on our OWN members (brothers). The purpose of these inspections are to uncover the honesty and integrity of our members and their resolve to be ANTI-CHEAT.

During "fun games" on our dedicated server, we randomly pick a member and ask them to MINIMIZE Raven Shield. They MUST remain in the server only MINIMIZING Raven Shield!!!

We then prompt them to log onto MSN Messenger Service. They then are instructed to "Ask for remote assistance." Doing this allows us to access their pc and view all of their files.

The Purpose of making them stay in the game is to be sure they can not delete any dll's that are loaded at the time. Raven Shield like most other programs will not allow you to delete or move files that are "currently in use." This allows the leaders of [COR] to be sure that our memebers are dedicated to the clans resolve to remain honest and ethical.

I'am sure I will get negative feedback for posting our methods, however this should be done in all clans.

I TRUST MY BROTHERS. To some, the temptaion of cheating goes hand in hand with online gaming. I just want to be sure that our members are not one of these people. Everyone complains about other clans cheating. We all accept that there will always be cheats. The only thing we can do is make sure our own brothers/friends/members deserve to be part of our respective organizations... This once again is just our clan policy and I thought I would share it with the rest of my bro's online... Peace and GG'z

That is a damn good idea! I trust every single one of our clan members, but what I've heard from other clans (dont wanna give out names), you can never know. But okay, we might just implement this as well.

Thanks for sharing man.
what about firewalls? big problem with our members. anyway around it? great idea otherwise, triumph

Ok, how many people do you think will allow anyone into their computers?
Firewalls, hmmm good question. never had that come up lol.
We are a tight crew, this is for members only privacy or trust shouldnt be an issue.
good idea triumph.....
Yeah - don't have people in your clan you don' trust that much. Good for you COR - nice idea.
If you've seen the way I play, you would know I don't cheat, but I don't exactly think I would allow someone I don't ACTUALLY know, because I know my fellow clanmates to a certain degree, but I don't trust anyone over the internet to give them that kind of access to my computer. If you have other people like me, then that's the only problem I see with it (other than the router issue Bull brought up). Plus, like Tiger said...why have people in your clan that you don't trust (when it comes to cheating)?

The ONLY people that I'll EVER allow into my computer is myself, my wife, and Bill Gates (only for updates). That's it. No way in hell would I let somebody I don't know personally, access my computer for a video game.

Sorry to see that some of you would allow this invasion of privacy....

Come on folks, there HAS to be another way of finding this stuff out.

UBI hear our pleas?

yeah but the thing is if someone is remote accessing your computer, you have the control at any point to stop it - and you always see what they're doing
What is the big deal, If you don trust people on your clan then dont, and find your own way of policing. We came up with an idea and trust each other so this works for us. is people who shut down every idea, yet still whine and complain that are the true problem. If UBI cant provide anything for now, then we do something about it. Also there are ways were you can actually take a SS of your system folder in alphabetical order(on the list view) while maintaining your RVS alt+tabbed and use this screen shot to compare to the original files. people there are tons of ways just think about them.
thanks to me for these ideas you can write your love letters to 1401 SE CORLAND. yea the SS of system folder is a nice one i hope all Ladders will think about this thats the best anti-cheat yet up to date thanks to me now have a good night
Im more worried about people acessing my computer and seeing how much DAMM PORN i have!!!! they may think im a porn addict. Not sure how thia works exactly if you just see file names or can see pics, but if you can see pics what if some guy kkeeps naked pics of his wife on it, i dont think he wants a pimpled faced teenager getting all hot and botherd over his wife and straoking the sausage inbetween matches., i mean come on.
There are other remote access programs available that only allow access to certain folders on a computer. You just make sure that your porn isn't in your Raven Shield folder, and you're all set.

I have to commend COR for this action. It's a step in the right direction. I wish more clans had the balls to call their own members out on cheating. It would make this game, and this community a lot cleaner.

yea gave him the idea but first time he asked me i was like huh ok then so i let him do remote to raven shield but this new thing i thought of is taken ss of system folder with rvs on left side and system folder as list type ill write more info on it later cya
just too bad u cant see memory hacks, since its the memory and not files... which the best cheats out for rvs are
While I think allowing remote connection is a bit extreme, It gets the job done..

I prolly will never enforce this on OCG members/Admins BUT doesnt mean we wont... We do take measures to check our members/admins for cheats. One of them being random SSs of ingame and in rare cases SSs of there game folders..

We also are active in Anti-Cheat sites FOR MOHAA/SH. I have not found any for RvS yet..
I see one will flaw in this remote access thing. Since the new patch has come out people have been undesisive about which version to use so lots are installing the game again on another drive so they have 2 raven shield folders one for 1.1 and one for 1.2 so they can play both versions. Well lets say someone plays version 1.2 and cheats and you ask to see their raven shield folder, guess what they can just show you the other folder and youll never know, so it's pointless to do remote access.

While this "could" be true for SSs of Game folders. Having Remote access allows them to do a find for specific files or folders.. It be hard to get around that...
A remotely aquired screenshot might be all that's needed with many hacks. Although the lag a screenshot puts on this game is pretty bad.

One possible improvement to all this would be if demos were working. Anyone know if they will ever be implemented?

Doubt it.

I can't say that I agree with the method here, but I do agree with the pro-active approach. I just think that this method is limited, invasive and to some extent is Communistist. But until a better solution is implimented, what else is there?? Personally, I trust all our current members and would not doubt their integrity. This solution would work better if it were a review of an opponents system, but that aint gonna happen!!

My suggestion would be along the lines of a random server called SS during gameplay in conjunction with a "Pure" server scan prior to connection. This would catch both game hacks and D3D hacks.

Its really sad that cheating and suspicion of cheating has degraded the online experience to the point where we are "guilty until proven innocent." **sigh** Where are my Meranda Rights!!??.......LOL

I just think RvS may die quicker than hopes of sex on Wizard's first date if UBI doesnt supply better and timelier support. Even with 3rd party AC, that still doesnt fix some of the major "boo-boos" in the game.

Hmm about the firewall thing blocking it, if it's a software firewall, disable it for a second while they do it. If it's a hardware firewall(i.e. router), then you can usually access your routers options by typing 192.168.1.1 into your internet explorer browser and find the option for which ports to allow. Go onto the MSN messenger help page and it will tell you which port needs to be open on a router to allow remote assistance to work. so the firewall thing shouldn't be a problem. unless you're at like a university playing where you can't access the routers. also, as sn0wx said before, if you press alt+enter during raven shield(makes rvs small window), then open your raven shield system folder, and take an ss with both windows open, that is also a good strat too. and that doesn't require the use of remote assistance.

Alright, again, the idea of this cheat catcher is to enforce the trust factor by solid evidence, no? Yes...BUT, the whole process is very intrusive and takes too long to do, especially if you have say 20 people in your team!

Anyway, the proactive approach is great, but the method is ineffective.
i mean the system ss while in game
I would not be willing to do this. I don't care who you are... nobody touches my computer, not my family, friends, NOBODY. Especially not someone I barely know over the Internet. If my clan leader doesnt think I am playing fairly, then I want nothing to do with the clan. Obiviously, he doesnt trust me if he suspects me of cheating. If range, expo, asked to do this, I'd quit right on the spot. Its not that I don't trust them, its just I dont think my computer is any of their business.
Once again this is just OUR methods. We figure what better way to stop cheating then to be sure your own team doesn't. So chill with the negative feedback. If you dont like it dont use it ... :0..Peace
Yes it is COR's methods, but you also suggested that this should be done in all clans.
The worst thing is that there are always counters to anti-cheats. I can think of a flaw for each of these methods (But won't tell you what they are). Even loging into their system wouldn't do it unless you made a program that "hacks" the memory to check that the person IS in fact playing on THAT system and what server they're in and who is in the server. Until that is done, it's reletivly usless to check. Though I do think that makeing AC's would be an improvement, who is going to pay these programmers? It's going to be an ongoing battle against ingorance, and its likely that cheaters will just one up the AC's.
I have one question though, what does the game do with the cheaters? Does it change their name to "Cheater", e-mail an admin, or just kick them? Personally, I think it would be hilarious if it blinked their name back and forth between Cheater and their "real" name.
Pretty nice idea. I suggest http://www.radmin.com much better, easier, faster then msn plus you can setup controls like read only access so people can get in look around but not delete or anything. I guess we have to keep coming up with these idea's because UBI can't decide which anti-cheat system to implement. ENJOY
I say let TWL admins do this during match disputes.... Too much? Not if your knows its clean!

Hehe, I agree, and it shouldn't be shown to the cheater him/herself :-). But of course it'll never happen... not at the rate UBI's fixing the game. I do like the new font however *sigh*
lol good luck u'll need it if a cheater is cheating he'll do anything to stop being caught, and by posting this people may now find away around doing what u told clan leaders to do, sad but true, i had to play RougeSpear with gay ass cheaters.. they did anything too hide there cheats
this is a great idea for those teams/clans that recruit players out of the blue, or just start a new clan. For some teams, like our team, there is no purpose in doing this... we have been together for 2 years almost, and by now i would know who cheats if anyone ever did. But this is a good idea for new players you recruit who you never met and think they got some lucky shots.
What about autoloaders. Guys didn't think about that, now did ya?

In case you don't know, an autoloader is a cheat/hack in a different directory than the game folder. So if the hack has an autoloader, i.e., public beta 2,3,and 4, then it's impossible to detect.

Sure, your method might catch those that are wise enough not to pay 80 bucks for a good hack, but what about those that did?
