Yes, that's right. From the people that brought you the 4v4 ladder and the 7v7 Ladder and Operation Triple Threat comes the Team Survival 5v5 League. 4 divisions 2 times zones and up to 40 teams will be able to play. You can sign up here. Everyone is invited to sign up, but teams will be selected from the pool of teams that have joined.

We hope to have this open around the time the Retail comes out. Wanna see who is really the best over all team? I am contemplating a composite format that entails team Survical, escort the pilot, as well as bomb mode. Thoughts or comments?

TC........my preference is to have Team Survival Only. I like the other modes of play......but not as a composite league. I am excited about the league concept though. I guess all I am saying is that I wear boxer underware and that I would not be willing to change to tighty-whities or bikini. I am comfortable with standard Team Survival play. I wouldnt want the leauge to fail because of people like me. Though as a team player, if the rest of SMAK wanted to participate in a composite league, I would follow. Maybe just put the other modes on regular ladders and see if they attract large numbers. If they dont, then there is your answer.

Thanks for taking the time to even ask for comments. With the exception of Wizard, TWL has the best admins!! I dont always agree, but at least you guys have the balls to make a decision.

Not sure how easy this is, although it appears relatively simple based on the coding that you apparently have in place..... How about an "Open Ladder" where you set the minimum number of players and let teams decide if they want to play 4v4 or up to 8v8? If they cant agree they go 4v4.

I am sure you folks are familiar with this given your experience on other ladders. It is nice to have the option to throw in a couple extra players in the mix when you have them available.

I'll be honest, there is alot we can try. I personally like the different modes of play. For giggles the MoH League was set up composite. Round based TDM (Team Survival) and Objective. So far everyone seems to like the different format. You'll play something different instead of the same old thing. Plus, you get to see who the more rounded teams are.

You can already agree to play with more players if you like. What we shoot for is a required minimum for people do base their teams on. If people think they have to have 8 players to play the game then they might not sign up. A prime example is the size differences between the 7v7 Ladder and the 4v4. 5 should be a happy medium that most teams can achieve...plus the Odd man out can add some interest to game play.

I dislike standard elimination gametypes. All of the problems with camping, etc etc mentioned before are still there. With an object oriented gametype, strategy becomes MUCH more important and draws are a thing of the past. You have a maximum time the game can go and you can freely increase the points required based on this maximum time (7 points, 4 minutes, 28 minutes tops) so the match can be more fun.

imo, Elimination should be the LAST consideration for retail league.
I like the idea of a composite league... I would want to join that because I enjoy the objective based games... unfortunately, not many servers run them.... but I am also someone who enjoys co-op with friends... so maybe I am just the loser that doesn't need to kill other people... but it makes things a little different from just survival... which is good...

Actually, TC, they are so small that they dont "clink," its more like a "tink-tink"....
Truthfully, Wizard is a great asset to SMAK and TWL. I hope TWL realizes it, cuz SMAK sure does.
Yes.... Wizard is a great asset to TWL... he is fair and speedy... and 5v5 will be great fun if we can play a little pilot! Give me my pistol and let me run to the SMOKE!

I sure hope you removed your lips from his buttocks after you finished typing that. If he wasn't an asset he wouldn't be here

Prying the lips wasnt that bad, it was the after taste...yuck............tasted like Vicks Vapor Rub....whats up with that..........???????
YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I am a little disipointed with this thread. To much talk about peoples balls and butts. I was hoping for some more information about the league. Like, how are the teams being chosen? I have never been in a leauge, so it would be nice to know how it works before I sign up my team. Are there weekly matches aginst teams that are randomly assigned. Daily matches...monthly? Or is it like a round robin tourney? I am very exited about Teamwarefare, and think you guys are doing a great job! Most likely the information is posted somewhere else, and I am just haven't found it. Could someone let this nOOb team in on the secret? What is a leauge like?

Also, my vote would be for just team battles, no other modes.

Why not open it to every team how fair is that..How do teams get selected..I have never seen TWL restrict the number of teams in a league. This truely disppoints me.
League type is the best way to play in my opinion but your already resticting the amount of teams..that makes no sense what so ever..So I guess the newer teams shouldnt even try to sign up right. Cause we all know the upper teams are assured a place. So the little teams are getting messed over already. This doesnt sound like the twl i know...
Frost wants to kill his clan for not playing this game!!
Willy is slowly converting all mohaa dorks to the Real GAme- RVS!

Speaking of 5x5 League.. How many do we have so far?

So...is anyone going to answer questions about the 5v5 on thie thread? Doesn't seem like it would take to long. Also..I thought the leauge would be set up the day the retail came out?
Apparently no admin is going to talk on this thread...
