MacDaddy Tournament Wrapup

September 25th and 26th, 2004 will go down in history as one of the crowning moments for the Ravenshield community here at TeamWarfare, or any community for that matter. Rallying together to support the 8 year old daughter of fallen community member Shawn "MacDaddy" Myers, this weekend brought together 42 teams, 300+ competitors, 20+ Sponsors, and an entire community to participate in the first ever MacDaddy Memorial Invitiational Tournament. The Tournament kicked off at 3:00 PM EST on Saturday, and continued for 10 straight hours, wrapping up at 11:00 PM EST with only 4 teams left standing:

Legends Never Die
Fast and Free
SMAK
Money Honey

Sunday brought even more excitement as these teams squared off against each other to see who was the best of the best, with the finals eventually pitting SMAK and Legends Never Die against each other for the championship. When the smoke finally cleared, it was SMAK who emerged victorious taking first place overall, Legend Never Die taking second, and Money Honey placing third.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this weekends events. This entire event raised more than $1500 for MacDaddy's daughter and unexpectedly brought together an entire community of gamers. Some clans even returned to the game simply to compete, which shows just how great this community really is. Thanks to the many, many, people who worked tirelessly to make this event happen, and the amazing sponsors who donated over $1000 in prizes for tournament participants.

This tournament was truly one for the record books with amazing competition and good, clean, matches throughout. Congratulations to all the prize winners and to everyone who had a chance to play. I for one can't wait for the Next MMIT event!!

Actualy im kinda glad Crew messed up i was hoping to see both the recording up there. I listened to the one we had vs F&F and lol just recalling all the intence battles and ridiculous blunders of that match.

So will the final match be listed for dl with all the interviews? If so i would love to listen in on that.

I'd just like to state on the record, I was saddened when Crew called one of my best shots "luck"

Ok all after the long weekend of tourney
I would like to start out buy saying congrats to smack for the win . I listened to it on hifi , sounded like a great match... second I would like to thx everyone who participated in the tourney and for the ones who couldn’t but paid a entry fee just to put in there donation. Mac daddy was a very close friend of mine, i know he is very proud of what you all have done for his girl..

Mac got me started playing this fuckin game about 1 1/2 years ago. We had a clan for GR and we decided that GR was getting old so he went out and bought me this game and shipped it of , about 2 days later I got the game in the mail(didn’t know he bought it and shipped it to me , free also, that’s just how he is).So I started playing and I fuckin hated this game at first . Was the dumbest firkin game I had laid my eyes on.Mac hated it also (cause he sucked at it ) After time though we hung in there and played of and on .. At this time we switched over to the "GT" clan. We played a little rvs ,GR and some loc on.. after a few mouths of complete boredom and porn searching we both decided to join up on a4d (this is were it gets ugly) my computer was really old and Mac was my computer geek who fixed my fuck ups (witch was allot) so at a whim, Mac sent me a brand new computer one . free of charge !! I tried to pay him but he would take the money with no strings attached Well one string he put pc anywhere on it. So he could easily fix my stuff (yea right) well he told me to leave it on all the time and he would be in and out fixing stuff as it went wrong. Well I came home from work one day to find on my desktop to males doing something so nasty you could only imagine to another male. Now for the peeps who don’t know me, I don’t bat for the other team, I don’t mind homos just keep your thing away from me!! After further investigation, I had 1000 emails from “male seeking male” and some “male seeking animal “now that’s just wrong. He also went onto every forum ghosting as me expressing thoughts that just were not right, or even physically possible for that matter, anyway it took me at least a month to get my email fixed and my wife now looks at me funny real funny..

Just one of my Mac daddy stories I thought you all would enjoy. Shawn was a very close and personal friend of mine and I’m just real lucky to of had a friend like him..

Nope, you guys started WAAAAY too late...We had to shoutcast the F&F and LnD match first, and it went into 6 rounds of OT which basically made it overlap entirely with your match...

Thats what I always say!

I've never played Ravenshield and didn't know MacDaddy, but I really applaud the Ravenshield community for stepping up like this. It really gives me renewed faith in the gaming community and the positive things that can come of it. Hats off to all of you who attended and I wish the best for MacDaddy's daughter and family.
