Stop the streaming ads!

You can stop those streaming ads that are downloading everytime you are playing the game.
Just follow these very simple instructions.



1) Open CWindows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in notepad

2) Paste this in:

#SWAT4 Ads

127.0.0.1 madserver.net

127.0.0.1 http://media.madserver.net

127.0.0.1 http://ad.madserver.net

127.0.0.1 http://imp.madserver.net

(You can remove the blank lines, the forum butchers it if they arent there

3) Save, and restart your computer (Or just the "Network Connections" service)

What this does is fools swat4 into thinking all of massives servers are your computer (127.0.0.1). It doesn't get a response from the servers (because you arent running one), so it shows the ads that were present in 1.0 (the fake ones)

i like the ads
they remind me when the new season of battlestar starts.

2nd season starts Friday here in the US Jim. Last year they ran the first season in the UK then in the US a few months after. I believe this time they planned on a US release 1st so look for it to start in the UK within the next 3 months.

The ads don't bother me one bit. Kind of nice to see whats going on in the outside world.
