hey guys i wanted to start a server for a few friends but i dont know how to configure it through a netgear wireless router. and uh.. i networked my comps once and then reformated and it all went to hell, i've basically tried everything but it wont network. so if anyone can tell me how to start a server and have it visible/have the router forward it to my lan ip i would greatly appreciate it
Use the README file in the SWAT 4 directory. Search for Multiplayer and you should find all the necessary documentation. I believe you need to open ports 10480-10483 on UDP and if necessary place your host PC in the DMZ.
ok i've opened hte ports and such but i still get
GameSpy qr2: (4) Unable to query the server. You may need to open port 10481 for incoming traffic.
The SWAT 4 Readme says you need Both UDP and TCP ports open (10480-10483 UDP and TCP)

If your Router's Using NAT try disabling it as it has been know to cause difficulties while Hosting.

Just so you know, that server would not be allowed for matches...
