Linux .vs. MS servers

I know this is a little off topic but I am interested and I think the general crowd would be too.

How well do the linux servers compare to the native Microsoft ones (speaking of 1.4 BF1942 of course). I'd be interested in terms of how many servers each can run simultaneously with what kind of load and what other experiences players have with each.

Thanks in advance,
Zeph
We rented a 1.31 linux server a while back, for a month. It was horrible. The AT had to reload twice between shots, and all the vehicles would shake badly when in use. I dunno if they've fixed these issues in 1.4.
I was on a Linux server last night that seemed to have zero problems. ARE the issues with Linux solved?
The linux servers are generally much more stable than before, but the consensus seems to be that they chew up a lot more CPU power (not linux's fault, just still beta, I guess).

This is the official forum for it, read for yourself:

I have a P41.6 Server which w/ windows server handles 32 fine, with linux server (as of beta 5, I hear the latest ones released this week are better), it can handle only 16 players.

Another guy in there with a athlon 2400 can't go higher than 24.

Anyway, development seems to be moving along well, and I'm sure they'll get there, but in the short term there is no question the windows server is more reliable.
one of the problems with the linux server with 1.4 beta 4 (released on 6/11) is that you can't use any kind of remote admin tool (such as BlackBag Ops) or it would crash the server... not even the RemoteConsole.exe supplied by DICE works right... basically the only way to remote admin the server is through issuing commands to the server through your in-game console, which means you have to be knowledgeable about the commands and stuff. 1.4 Beta 7 of the Linux server is out now tho... hopefully it has addressed this problem...
