I could make maps, I think everyone except 1 person were totally impressed with the Toujane map I made and put in my server. It is a ripoff map of another game(dont tell anyone!), but I learned alot from it about balancing and adding dimensions that make maps "good" maps. Everyone loves new maps, but the hardest problem is getting them to download them. I put a link for my map in my xfire status and in a xfire blog and people still had trouble finding it.

not a bad idea. I am currently looking into getting a server to replace EA 10. I did a little research and http://www.artofwarcentral.com which is twl's server site seems to have great prices. I looked up a 20-slot for 6 months and it came out to (with no TS/ ventrilo) $101. I am considering it, because that is really not bad at all.
jeremy, check out that site, its legit and they seem to have a lot more support than gameservers, plus a lot cheaper

We do have a match server available as well...on the east coast that is available for teams that need a server for matching. Of course we will need to know at the time of a challenge if a server is needed to accomodate the match.

The best part about them is they are honest, and they dont dilute your server with other renters atfer a month or so like everyone else. You get your money's worth, were as these cheap servers give you good prices but you're sharing the actual server with like 10 other clients. :/Originally posted by: tehnillaOriginally posted by: TankMastaGAlso check out nfoservers. nfoservers is a joke. it is more than double the price for less than half the support

Just consider these people are trying to run a bussiness, and renting out space on the physical servers for around $18 a month doesnt yeild any profit if you dont cram a bunch of renters into one server. If they charge double you can assume there will be half as many people on that server, so long as they arent lying to you.

I will say this right now...the moongamer's servers are god awful for ping unless you are east coast, at least for the pubs...please tell me it isnt in Virginia too...cause its god awful, not to bash moongameres or the server situation cause its cool you guys are offering one. Just miserable for any west coasters.

I have been considering this fact, but I would need help.
So, I was thinking about starting a pub server that played customs. The server would be named something like http://www.newbf42.com/maps (this is fake name, but just an example). Thus, people (generally pubbers) could see the name of the server, and know immediately where to download the maps. The maps would be in an installer.
I am thinking like adding 2 new maps every two months, with the first release having like 4 for a good rotation. I would have all the maps be in the spirit of 1942 maps (balance, scale, amount of vehicles, ect). I would have people just vote a map rotation.
So, far, I have created a single map called leningrad (like stalingrad mixed with kharkov).
I would need some other people to make maps, but I could fund most of it.
