Hi

I am not good at computers and stuff. I installed BF1942 on Win 7 64 but I can’t seem to change my screen resolution. Is anyone familiar with this issue. I jumped straight from XP to Win 7 laptop recently and I hate this “Run as Administrator” crap.

So got any tips? I just want my screen res to be 1600 * 900. Right now I got 2 bands on nothingness on either side of my screen when I play at 800*600…
I guess no one will reply since this thread has no potential for drama. Bitches
resolution dont matter,, just get neer ammo box and nade spam.
You have to run as admin and in XP compatability mode and also..

(from ATF forum)
Windows\SysWOW64. Run pnkbstr A and B as admin.
Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942. Run BF1942 as admin.
Username\AppData\Local\Punkbuster\BF1942\pb. Make sure pnkbster B is running as admin.

As for your video.con related crashes. With Vista and 7 you're only allowed to use 1 modified profile... so, unfortunately, that means you have to pick a name and stick with it.

I followed these instructions and it solved all the issues I was having. Hope it helps
So Windows 7 can run 1942? Let me get this thing installed and see if I still suck!

Ahh. I just reformatted and am having the same problem. Why do they make it like this? lol I messed around with the permissions and am now able to save changes I make in options but still can't change my name. =[ I will be ANGRY_GREEK_MAN for this tourney I guess lol. WELCOME TO GREECE MY FRIENDS!!!
I have Win7 and can easily change names with no issue. I crash vista style frequently but other than that I have no problem. Could be that I just transferred the game's program files folder here via external HDD, but that shouldn't make a difference.
