a few months ago I used to pay attention to that but anymore I dont. Especially now when ever I am not playin a scrim or match all I do is screw around. Our server is among one of the server that stats are recorded and well lets just say most of the time im doing stuff like trying to go rambo on stalingrad playing as engineer expacking everyone, or doin jeep jumps, or havin bazooka wars with teammates. I agree true skill isnt recorded by bfstats, simple as that.

The whole teamplay thing on bfstats is wacked, and for those tank camping whores...... who think their godly because of their bfstat rank, all I say is come play with some of us top clans with our bazooka's then you wont have much of an ego left.

BFStats is a fun thing, but the logic they use is all screwy still. It mostly rewards lots of time logged in, people playing on FF-off servers get the highest ratings, etc. All sorts of ways to manipulate it and bs the ratings. I think the idea of medals and ranks is a blast, very neat ideas they came up with, they just need to idiot proof it a little more. I havent heard any smacktards brag about it yet, but TWL is bragging central, so im sure it will start up soon.

i think the bfstats thing is fun...i only pay attention to the ribbons and rank...it gives you something to try and get besides the win...i especially like the 25% of your points are from team points ribbon and the PPM ribbon...those are my biggest challenges...and it promotes flag capping...
Here's a trick, play BF and don't kill anybody. You'll get 100% teamplay percentage and shoot up the ranks. BFStats rewards pacifists and peeps who can't hit a damn thing. Weird, IMO.

Maybe they are from France?
I like the concept of stats too, but usually only when integrated within the game using a good system. C&C Renegade had a pretty good way of doing it, but the game was ruined by a bad engine/netcode. It gives you something to shoot for when pubbing. I don't really care to play games for too long when there is no goal, I just find it gets repetitive and boring. In match play the goal is obvious, to win. But on pubs it doesn't really matter which side wins.

But it's all worthless though since bfstats scoring system sucks. It it like 75% flag caps, so if you are in a plane, you can wave your rating goodbye. Tanks also won't capture as much as infantry. Their scoring system basically rewards people who play maps like wake, tobruk and battleaxe all the time, while people who play coral sea or el alamein get screwed.

It also scores while you are just messing around not trying to do well. Like during prematch before a match. Theclq.com has a better system, but it was still far from perfect, and doesn't work with BF anyway. It takes your best 90 minutes any given week. So you can mess around and it won't affect your rating. While you can play to get a high ranking whenever you want to. The main problem it has is it only factors kills. Which is fine for deathmatch, but worthless for anything else. So that's why you need an internal scoring system for a game.

WRONG, TP% does not help your score in any way at ALL, TPM and SPM are the only thing that affects your score, if you kill 3 people capturing a flag thatt is better than just getting the flag.
I play as a medic alot and i heal people in droves. I am thinking I should get some credit for that. Until BF allows for points for things like healing and repairing vehicles there is no way you can properly track performance.

i agree that it would be a lot better if they could track stuff like healing/repairing/sinking ships/artillery calls, and the admin there also agree, but the problem is EA doesnt provide them with any of that information so they cant really track it =/

Its a shame games dont clue into this and use the RTCW system or something similar, the best ive seen so far. Point for kill, point for heal, points for objectives, etc. BF should have adapted that right off the bat.
