NOTICE: 1.3 IS NOT FOR MATCH PLAY

Due to some unfortunate bugs in the 1.3 patch it will NOT be used for matches. this is effective immediately. all we can do now is wait for the next patch (1.31 anyone?).

To revert to 1.2 you simply need to re-patch 1.2 over 1.3. We tested it and were able to join a 1.2 server fine.

Something else to test: can one join a 1.2 server while running the 1.3 patch? And if so, does the "buddy feature" still exist for that user?

No...you can't. I tried it on our server. You get a "failed to connect" message. Anyway, 1.31 will probably be out in a day or two (hopefully). If it isn't, would it be possible to postpone matches or will we have to revert to "rolling back" to 1.2?

As of now, everyone should be reverting back to 1.2

As with all patches, do not update until TeamWarfare gives the patch its official "Seal of Approval".

I tend to agree with match suspension's. I have already upgraded my servers. Yes I have a back up copy. Since I saw on another site that there is an updated patch in the works it would be easier to wait a few days for the new patch then to be jumping back and forth installing and uninstalling patches for each match. Despite the new cheat I find the 1.3 a significant improvement on my system.

I think it was established in the other leagues that even if you reinstall 1.2, the wallhack can still be used. You cannot expect everyone in the league to completely delete the whole battlefield file and redo this. I think matches need to be suspended.

Well.. considering I brought it up.. a rebuttle for TWL.

You can just run your 1.2 patch over your 1.3 patched game and it will downgrade to 1.2. Course this is coming from a source and I have not tried it out.

But again... TWL has to make decision. I'm just a Div Coordinator. :PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPp

Evil is right, to 'swap' between patches, you just have to reinstall the 1.2/1.3 updater, thats it.

We are all hoping that DICE releases a patch in the VERY near future to fix this, according to them it is being worked on now (cant be too hard to remove a few cvars)

Well upon reading up above.. seems they've discussed this to an extend. I dunno stability on doing this on servers. But from the looks of it. Personal computers work fine when joining 1.2 -1.3 games when patched back and forth. But.. who knows on stability of servers though.

I took the plunge last night at downgraded to 1.2. It had no issues. I was able to crank up our Desert Combat server with no errors to speak of. As of right now we are running a 1.2 DC server and a 1.3 stock server. Stability issues are not the only issue. I know for a fact every match at least 1 player from each team will try and connect and have the wrong patch installed. This will cause delays at a minimum. I stand by my stance suspend league play until this patch issue is resolved!!!

all for nothing! this week is OPTIONAL! WOO !

Coming from the recent "GREAT WAIT of 02" in the T2 community, I think the last thing to do is suspend play. Keep playing with 1.2. The game is not affected that much by staying at 1.2. It changes dramatically by going to 1.3.

Unfortunately the patch does have a few bugs... but for those hat have bf 1942:rtr its not fair to say that they have to uninstall the game to play on the ladder. If thats the case I feel you will lose a lot of players from your ladder and as a result we will remove ourselves from the ladder. It is an official patch, I say use it and wait but for those that have RTR its not fair to them to make them uninstall the game to play on the ladder.

I agree. I want to play Road to Rome. The majority of the Road to Rome servers out there are patched to 1.3. I'll be patching to 1.3. If this means I have to sit out of TWL matches until the next patch so be it.

Yeah, I went back and did a fresh install of BF, and patched to 1.2. There were hardly any servers to play on (a handful, and 90% of those were empty or locked). So I installed Road to Rome, which "Warned" me that it was going to go to 1.25. Fine, go ahead. Still, barely any servers to play on. Patched to 1.3. Finally, my server list started coming up with servers that weren't greyed out.

I agree with you Polaris. Dice _did_ screw us on this one.

In another thread someone posted that if you install the 1.3 patch and then run the 1.2 patch the console code to see where people are still works.

I haven't tried it but if it's true then at this point what's the problem with just going with the 1.3 patch?

For God's sake people, this one is _easy_.

Take your v1.2 game, and copy the entire BF1942 folder to a new directory. That will be your 'league' or TWL game. Take the original and install RTR and the patch. Use THAT one for pubbing.

That solution works Huey. But to play the Devil's Advocate here:

Thinking from the "cheater's mind";
'Why would I want a clean copy of 1.2 on my computer when I can just patch down and up and still have the "wallhack" available to me?'

I am looking for a confirmation on this. In regards to what Crager just mentioned and various others as well. "If you patch down and up, the wallhack is still available."

If somebody has officially confirmed this. Then please let me know. And I apologize for not seeing it in other threads.

tried it, didnt work. i had no wallhack on 1.2, course i don't cheat so maybe i'm not cool enough to make it work.
