I've been nad jumping today with FF @ 100% and it works. You just have to know how to do it.

Oh, and by the way pimp, you said that life isn't fair. Isn't gaming part of life. Think about it.

I also believe in improvising. Makes the mind strong. I don't like things to always be one way or another. I like to see change. Because change forces you to adapt. If you don't like the fact that people nad jump, then do something about it in the game. Like cover that area where they will nade jump.

Gaming is a form of entertainment, and for the vast majority of gamers, escapism. It is a respite from the cruelties of the real world (which most of us do very well in, but it does get old), and a psychological departure into a sanctuary where only personal skill, honor, and fraternity matter. So yes, it should be fair. However, I personally don't have an opinion on whether nade jumping is fair or not, I just know that it can be done (yes, even with FF on). It is possible to scale all the walls of Omaha siege-ladder style using nade jumping.

I would like to point out that this is NOT Quake or CS, however, and thus any comparisons made to leagues for those games are purely specious. In fact, many BF players play the game because it isn't the two aforementioned shooters. We all laugh when a stray defgun blast or an awry bomb throws us halfway across the map in a pub, and we love to wingwalk and do all sorts of exp-pack stunts, but how far do you really want to take the dicking around? Should it spill over into legitimate match play? When does innovation and exploration turn into the familiarity of exploitation? The line must be drawn somewhere by the admins, wherever it may be, and it is irresponsible to suggest otherwise.

Nobody has even suggested that the admins will ignore the issue. It WILL be addressed, as soon as a chance presents itself. It will NOT be removed from thursdays league play simply because to do so, at this point, would be unfair to the 350+ people who have put time into developing a plan for it. If the nade jumps are that big of an issue, be prepared for it and defend against it. One nade of your own down at the base of the wall should prevent too many attempts This isnt a pub.

The hiding spots, on the other hand, may be an exploitation of a map bug. But until we experiment with it we cannot rule on it.

Map balance is an entirely different issue that will be addressed, and could be potentially removed, after this weeks play.

much from that statement...the only thing if any that should be made a rule is no using those secret spots or whatever they are.......
I'm not saying that the admins will ignore the issue, I'm advising people not to be pissed off when the admins make a ruling. Misunderstanding.
I gotta stress that one of the main features of this game is realism. In WW2, people didn't use grenades to blow themselves up a wall. nade jumping is not a feature, it is an expliot and a cheat and the TWL should rule it as such.

Q3, Tribes, T2 Classic, CS, they all have their exploits, some are accepted, some are not. I would rather not see an exploit ruin a game and that is how I view it: this exploit would ruin the game.

Make the call now, tell everyone that nade jumping is not permitted, otherwise we will all have to go learn it for Thursday.
I personally look forward to nadeing people who try Not only do they leave themselves extremely vulnerable when setting up the jump, but the chances of them actually pulling it off with enough force to make a difference is slim.

id love to see anyone try this on any other map except omaha... because it is pointless on any other map. the only reason I think it should be allowed is because it adds a little more difficulty to defending for the Axis... Of course you wouldnt do this in real life but fuck... THIS IS A GAME NOT REAL LIFE. adding more spice to an already ONE SIDED, BUGGY map in the first place isnt going to really change alot of the outcomes, but atleast it might add a little more determination for those that get stuck on the losing end.

id also find it rather amusing to see someone else try this haha...
Hey, I have damn fun in Omaha. Some of us rustic minded fools enjoy leading mass rushes up a ramp. You might laugh, but I'm the one laughing when that one survivor from a rush wipes out every machine gunner who's pitched tent.
That's in a pub, you won't be laughing when the defgun blasts you off a cliff for the thousandsth time.

I was under the impression the destroyer could move in time.

I'm not really hearing an answer to my question and I'm feeling particularly interested since the guys who know how to do a nade jump with FF on just happen to be my opponents for this week.

Since this exploit could make or break a team on this map I think it is very important that the admins make it clear what is allowed and what isn't. My team doesn't seek out exploits and I personally dislike them, thus we don't know how this nade jump is done with FF on. From what I have heard in this thread so far is that it can be done and if it is going to be an accepted exploit then I would like to know now so I can get my guys to figure it out.

Polaris, Reign, anyone?
hmmm... do i sense some fear from the almighty Kin?!

will they or wont they? that is question
I wouldn't say fear. More likely I am just looking for a fair game and a ruling on an exploit. Personally, I don't like exploits but if everyone else is using them, I won't be the idiot that sits back and doesn't. IMO, nades are used for killing, not for boosts. But that's my opinion, we need to find out what the TWL is going to rule.
What does it matter anyway. Omaha is not a type of map to play a clan match on. It doesn't really take any skill to win. All you have to do is have one guy lay down in a landing boat to contest the flag. Position your tanks to hold back infantry, and defgun the ship so they move it or it sinks and your done. Badaboom badabing.

If you have 2 even teams, axis will win 9 out of 10 times. All it comes down to is which team will have the least amount of deaths when their on the axis team.
what romeo said is exactly what Ive seen happen....I wouldnt mind not seeing it happen again

Still no official decision has been made on either the 1.3 patch or the use of nade jumping in Omaha. Come on admins, pick it up.

Hey if your not nade'jumping, your not trying. If your not spawn killing, your not trying. And if your not cheating your not trying. Words i live by in all games i play (and life)... BUT, that doesnt mean i dont know an exploit or a cheat when i see it, and it doesnt mean that i wont use it either (when in Rome...). If this is what teams have to resort to in order to get an edge, good luck. me and my STG will be waiting at the top to say "hi". Personally i think FF should be off for all matches. If teams arent good enuff to fight wihtout killing their teamtes, grow some skills! i myself also use expack jump to get up the cliffs on Kurosk, to take out artillery, and sneak attack the hill flag (i know all you clowns will try this now), works like a charm, but i know what im doing isnt what the game was designed for, and it certainly takes away from the realism of the game. But then again they shouldve given the engineer an M1-Gurand 5 shot semi instead of the crappy get killed while you reload bolt action thingy, duh! But i digress. Turn FF off, stop the nade jumping, and learn to aim at the enemy, not at your buddy's ass!
I agree with Choad as far as FF being on/off for matches, it surprises me that that's not already the way it is.

FF should be a hazard in matches (I'm confused as to FF on or FF off means FF hurts your teammates, so to clarify, FF should hurt in matches!!)

Okay, this is likely to be the most ignorant question in this thread (although the competition seems stiff ) but am I to understand that friendly fire = ON is not a mandatory match setting? I think it has been on all of our matches so far.

I recall quite well getting bombed back to the Stone Age by a teamie on Bocage who thought a 250lb iron bomb completed the perfect picture of me next to a changing flag station...

Insofar as Omaha goes, yes there is an inherent flaw on the map in which the Axis side can get down the to the flag on the beach and keep it from changing while the def guns blast the destroyer out of the water. I don't know that I'd call it a cheat but it makes the game damned lopsided instead of a contest of teams with skills. I'm normally the last to suggest banning anything but Omaha is almost impossible to win if Axis camps a landing craft and their def guns are even remotely accurate.

The very existence of flame throwers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said, "You know, I wanna set those people over there on fire. But I'm just not close enough to get the job done".
FF is on 100% in matches. It is in the server settings section in the rules. The thing that I'm interested in is this talk that nade jumps can still be done even with FF on. I can't see how it is done but it shouldn't be permitted.

The clipping bug that allows a player to hide inside the landing boat is illegal already and if you see it being used take screenshots and contact an admin ASAP.
FF is always to 100% and I don't think it can be turned off even if both teams agree. I pub only in FF 0% servers, but that's just to avoid the smacktards who TK for fun. In matches, however, it's assumed that your team has practiced enough and works well enough together to not bomb the shit out of each other (at least not very often), so FF should be on. Shit happens. There's no reason to pretend that it doesn't.
Considering we play this match in 2 days, and brought this information almost a full week ago, I am disappointed that the admins, Maher being gone, cannot pick up the slack and give us a decesion on the following points:

1-Nade jumping legal or illegal?
2-The OBVIOUS exploit, where you cannot be seen or shot, on the beach
3-1.3 wall hack version

Oh yeah
4-The OBVIOUS exploit, where you can reportedly stay in the midlevel bunkers without being seen or shot, and you can shoot out.
1. I will get with Reign asap and see what he thinks on nade jumping

2. The exploitation of ANY map bug (including the landing craft) that involves clipping always has, and always will be illegal. If you see a team doing this in your match, take a screenshot. If you are CAUGHT doing this in a match, you will be instantly forfeited.

3. 1.3 Wallhack wont be an issue as 1.2 is the official version for Thursdays match.

4. This is a 'reported' bug that I have yet to see. I've tried from all the bunkers/angles and cannot find this.

Use Black Bag Ops autokick, it's GREAT. One bug, is that it "low gravs" the first map, but simply switch maps right after you start the server and you're set. Auto-messages, auto-kick, auto-ban, auto-kick on ping, stats, and more.

"no skill" to win on omaha. since you play both sides, isn't it the team that out strat/out plays their opponent that wins? in other words, skill.
