First just want to give a big Thank You to TWL for hosting an 8v8 BF1942 Winter Tournament. Its nice of them to host this event for us and give alot of ppl a chance to rekindle the Battlefield 1942 spark inside of all of us. Its great to see alot of past names return to the servers we frequent and frag it out till the sunsets and beyond.
[Week one] brings us to the great battle map of Bocage. Here USMC battles it out against GERMANY. Theres 3 flags between 2 uncappable mains. Allied-USMC starts off with 2 mustangs, a B-17 bomber, a jeep, M-10 tank, Sherman - light tank, and an APC. Axis-GERMANY starts off with 2 BF109, 2 Heavy Tiger tanks, a jeep, and an APC. Which ever team gets the sawmill/middle flag will gain an artillery piece. A pretty evenly balance map in my book and a blast to play on.
Here are my predictions on this weeks matchups. I did them souly on my personal knewledge of the teams and they are purly my own opinions. If I picked your team to lose PLEASE prove me wrong. Good luck to all the teams returning and have a great week everyone.
****101st****** > Lost Brotherhood - 2-0
[101st] Is a good group of guys with a few talented players. Ive pubbed on thier server and had some fun exchanging lead. [101st] leader Holden is a stand up english gent and I think he is going to lead his team to victory in this match. [LB] I dont know much about them except thier forum is in 2 languages and they have some clanbase experiance. So that might give them an advantage. But Im still going to have to root for my boy Holden.
WáKé Clan > -=Criminally Respected=- 2-1
This should be a good match up here. Wake clan frequents Tweedle's wake server, has a few killer pilots, and have some sexy ass clan tags. -=CR=- I remember from back in the day and they had some skill back them. I have scrimmed against -=CR=- a few times last week and they are some good guys that want to get better. Hungery for a win. Bocage is a fun map and semi balanced in my book. Im going to go with wake for the win this week. Their pilots will make the difference.
[TEAM]69er > -[HC]- HardCorps 2-1
Both these teams I remember from back in the day. I never scrimmed against 69er's but in the past I have met a few of them in pubs and they had some strong guns. I also hear a couple of 69ers are from Hawaii. (lucky bastardo's) -[HC]- I believe HC used to be a a ctf clan and have been around a long time. This match can go either way, but I think from my personal past experiance 69ers will knock that dust off and bring home the win.
-56th Fighter Group- > United Soldiers Force t3 2-0
This could be a good match here. 56th have some VERY strong infantry and could be one of the best well rounded team. But Bocage has some strong tanks and since -¦Ü§F¦- runs EA 10 24/7 aberdeen they should have the best tankers in the game. I like both of these clans and respect both thier skill powers, but I think 56th will sweep this match and take it home in 2.
Team Ownzors > ATF Humpen & Dumpem 2-0
I know both of these teams have some good past TWL experiance. Ownzors roster has a ton of talent on it and big names. I think they will make it to the playoffs and do well. ATF has a Huge roster and idk which 8 will play in the match for them. I know they have some strong players from pubbing in thier server but idk who they will bring. ATF has also been on the forums looking for scrim partners so they do want to come prepared. But Ownzors has the pilots, the tankers, and the infantry to do alot of damage and I think they will take this in a quick 2.
sorfly > Black Thong 2-0
sôR// is a pick up team formed from a mix of players from past strong TWL teams. Such as e16, HnB, SSB, Thier core is from AoD and run "Area of Destruction" server. They have some Very good pilots on thier roster and a few strong infantry players. (BT) is a newer clan on the bf42 scene and are crazy into infantry only. I always see them scrimming and trying to perfect thier infantry skillz. I hope they have some pilots and tankers up thier sleeve. If sôR// brings thier air talent to the match this week they should take this in an easy 2, but if they dont have thier air talent and (BT) has some hiden talent in vechicals and this gose to the ground it will be a blood bath.
BR1 > Reborn Brothers 2-1 ****MOTW Pick****
This match is my pick for MOTW. Please visit =BR1= website and on the left, look at the list of thier past BF1942 achievements http://www.clanbr1.net/forum/sitenews.asp Very impressive. =BR1= is a well balanced team, back in the day I have had the pleasure of playing against them and it is a well earned victory if you can take one of them down. They have some of the best pilots in the game. =BR1= Cherry is a great match pilot. BiG Ed + Ethereas are some strong tankers listed on thier roster and Stepside leading thier talented infantry. °¦Rߦ° is one of the newage strong clans still tearing it up on the TWL ladders. I take a glace at thier roster and see alot of <-V-> Virus clan members on thier. Those are pretty strong addition. °¦Rߦ° has an advantage of still being seasoned in the game and running a very popular GHETTO BERLIN°¦Rߦ° creating some talented infantry players. I fear if =BR1= is going to take this league seriouse they will roll playoffs and make it to the championships. GL to both teams. Big ups to DocD, bring the pain bud.
Camp The Flag > Purity of Essence 2-0
Hmmmm, hYa is going to be a super strong team in this League. Under the great leadership of Bigdog hYa is bringing together a well rounded roster highlighted with thier talent in the air with iPee and Roofius (die in a fire roofius). hYa has been scrimming alot against ·«|®|»· and I think are finding thier weakness, filling in some empty holes and gaining alot of experiance fast. They have recruited some new players and trying to form some team chemisty. If they find the right mix they will make playoffs and stand strong. PoE I dont know much about. I know they are old school and are competing in bf2142. Just hope they bring some old school magic and play thier hearts out. GL

Love From Above > Clan Bucktoof 2-0
Love from above is a very strong team formed when this winter league and the SoV tournament were announced. They might aswell call themselves cream of the crop. Because they have a ton of talent from former good clans. Such as BCE, SSB, and some very talented veteran BF42 players. Leading them in the sky will be Karamazov and SnakeTiits.
malakai is a past star tanker listed on thier roster. Also Ferrari_360 my favorite pub allstar. Bocage should be a great map for them to shine on. =BTG= is a popular old school team with thier pulic server of the past "BuckTooF Battlegrounds" being a popular hot spot for great players to frag in. They have alot of competitive experiance going toe to toe with alot of top clans of the good ol days. It will be nice to see how they shape up in this winter league. GL to both teams.
Critical Limit > Fragnastika 2-0
cL| is a clan I had my hands in creating. It was 1st formed just for fun to get some old vets and friends together and enjoy some bf1942 TWL ladder action. Most of thier members have been past or are currently apart of [SOE]. They had alot of talent and experiance, just need to get that activity up, rust off, and team chemisty. Then they will be a force. [FRAG] is an old school clan I remember from back in the day. I believe they had thier hands in some [DC] actions and I remember pubbing against them here and there. They seem like a jolly group from thier responces in the rant boards. Looking forward to seeing what they got on the battlefield.
Death Raiders Xtreme > Forgotten OutlawZ 1-0
{DRX} I dont know much about them. They seemed to have gotten a good sized roster quickly and have joined both 5v5 and 8v8 ladder. they have an 0-1 record in each, but Im sure with time they will turn that around. -fz- only has 2 guys on thier team.
Allied Fighting Force > illuminators 2-1
|AFF| never played against them , but from looking at thier match history they played BF1942 from the get go. Some true old schoolers here. Glad to see them reinstall and return for this league. illuminators are a swedish team from what I understand. They have a cool website banner and might know how to enlighten us all. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Revenant is stacked full of some old school names that anybody who has been around for longer than 2 years would recognize and trench in fear. 75th is a clan I dont know too much about. From what I know, they came from ctf and are a very competitive team when it comes to ctf. However, we all know there is a big difference between ctf and conquest. It's is possible that 75th could give Rev a run for their money in the air, but their tanks and infy will most likely be over run. Rev is very strong on the ground. Looking at 75th's roster, they also have some old vets from the days of 6thAD, which could bode well for them. 6thAD is a very experienced, disciplined team that could cause some trouble for some teams. However, Rev will take this one in an easy 2 with strong players like Biggy, Loven, Rapture, and cyak.
