Is it worth it?

Is holding a spot on the ladder worth more than playing the game? I mean seriously, what goods the spot if there's noone to play? I only say this because of some of the shit going on around here. Teams hiding fopr 25 minutes to win, teams refusing to work out dates and all sorts of shit.

Play the game or get off the fucking ladders!
God bless leagues.

yes god bless league play and not ladder play
well, if you were in a.... 2v2 air league, you can still hide for an entire round to save your match.

I think we need to collectively, as a community, refuse to play any of these ignorant fucktwats who choose a spot o na ladder over playing a game. If a team does such, refuse to play them, noone attack or challenge, they challenge, forfeit to them. let them take your spot even #1 as logn as noone will challenge them. what good is the #1 spot if you didn't "win" to get there or have noone to play?

If winning is that important, go fucking play SP.
This is why i never challenged for #1 in my 2v2 tank team. Sure, there were plenty of opportunities for us to take it, but in the end its not worth being #1 because of all the D.RAMA and shit that comes with it. Not to mention it gets very lonely at #1 with no one challenging you.

I think its funny we gained more respect being a flexible & deadly team that stayed in the top ten rather than going to #1. We have never accepted a forfiet, ever. If a team is flexible with me, I will be like wise. I'd rather play a match and have fun than care about my ranking.

More teams should adopt this style of approach, especially for the mini-ladders. For larger ladders I can somewhat understand there being forfiets, but how hard is it to reschedule a 2 man team?

As for people hiding, thats just retarded. In air matches it is so fucking easy to altitude whore and hide for the rest of a match, add to that there is no real way to prove anyone was hiding.

I think the admins did a good job dealing with the hiding in the 2v2 ladder, although the kill limit should be lowered to 10. In our first match with the new rules, the match lasted 2 hours. It wasn't fun, it was just annoying. Since there is no incentive for teams that are down a few points to attack, hiding becomes more common with down teams setting up ambushes and not moving from their location - making long games.

Sorry if I wrote a bit too much.

being #1 doesn't necessarily have to do with this. Though, in the end it will, teams in lower ranks do this to keep their spot or just get higher.

I can't believe more people haven't said shit about it. This is the type of shit that kills ladders.
I could not agree with you more Andural. Forcing a forfiet is lame IMO unless there is no other option. We have had the opportunity come up a couple times and never push it as it is only a ladder, last time I checked we were not getting payed to moveup the ladder. Play the game have fun.
playing the game is obviously more important than wining, thats what videogames are made for- fun. i agree with ur position andural, but, as malakai said, theres no real way to stop people from hiding. ur idea of not playing people , although a good one, is really in the end just satisfying what they want, in many cases the #1 spot.
He is referring to a situtaion such as this (none specific): Team A is playing Team B Round 1 Team goes say... 4-6 with team A in the lead. Round 2, team B being down by 2 would like to dogfight and gives there location and where they will be several times, yet team A hugs the border of the map or whatever else to avoid any contact for all 25 min of 2nd round. Giving team A the win 4-6 which was also flown in the better plane.

So quick recap: Round 1 Team B in (corsair) team A (zeros) total of around say 5 dfs happen. ending in team A with 6 and team B with 4. 2nd round. Team B calling there specific location several time but 0 dogfights, and 0 contacts. Totaling team A (now in corsair) with 0 and team B (now in zeros)totaling 0 giving Team A the overal win 4-6.

Just an example, nothing specific.

thats why i think smaller custom maps should be made. Don't give them an chance to hide.

Some people need to get a fucking life and quit bitching about stupid shit all the time.
^^ I assume you have no problem with the hiding then?
Hiding is friggin ghey. My clan lost a 2v2 tank match because of it quite some time ago and I was beyond pissed. The admins are aware of it and if they don't do anything about it, you're screwed. Maybe since I'm 30+ and still play 42 and other games, I'm less patient with all the 14 year old antics I see in this community and others. Not saying that you are 14, I can tell you're not. I enjoy FPS's so I'm either gonna have to put up with it better or just stop playing. If hiding is this much of a problem, captains need to make sure everyone is on the same page before the match is played. Just like clans agree not to pixel aim, they should agree that hiding is ghey and cowardly.
well, pixel aiming is a ghey way of fighting, hiding isn't fighting. What if the team doesn't agree?

Anyways, admins have stated before that it will not be tolerated and from what I hear, a recent situation is being handled and replayed.

Doesnt really work, because hiding is generally an act of desperation if ya ask me, so agreeing isnt going to stop them when they are worried about a loss.

Very good point.
Forcing a forfiet is lame IMO unless there is no other option

Yes, but don't be a prick while doing so... whining and the such is immature and has happened in my experience and makes me hate the other team even if I liked them previously

Well IMO when in a 2v2 match when per say team A hides when in lets say the corsair and try's to wait it out till they get the zero's is a bunch of BS then all the sudden wants to fight once they get the plane of choice is chickenshit !!
Then get a taste of their own medicine they want to cry about it, hmm makes you think about things in a different light.
^^^^^^ forfiet king
Take a look at our rants, any pilot thas has played with me before knows i dont hide and looking at the challenge i mad, makes it perfectly even. Last post on first page.

yeah, having a kill total instead of a time limit would pretty much eliminate the hiding, but matches would also take a hell of a long time
