Trying to organize a multi-clan 20v20

S'up fellas,

I'm trying to get a bunch of good clans together to play a huge 20v20 match for hopefully late tonight or possibly sometime in the near future. It's kind of a huge undertaking but I think it would be dope for everyone involved. Each side would have every clan member of a particular clan involved. I was thinking Battleaxe would probably be the best since it is spacious, symmetric, and both sides have the equally strong capabilities. So far I've got a few from my clan, Team Rev, Infamy, DBH and SOE that are definitely interested and will commit if it goes down. I'd like to ask all of the best clans in BF, if you're interested, to come join us. I've never done anything like this before so I'm not sure how it will work out, but hopefully it will.

An issue is that we'd also need a server with a capacity for 40 players. So if you know anyone with one or have one yourself, let me know. Feel free to contact me at my Xfire ID: bluntedgenocyde. heh I would of done it but I got a match at 9:00 and then 11:30 PM EST. Oh well.

Hey the 1stVCav may be interested in this venture. I know we can provide a 50 player server and 15-20+ players if needed with enough notice. I know we are doing something similar to this Sunday night with the MOB and Shortbus. This kind of experiance is always fun and great for the community. Let us know. REBEL

Sweet, I couldn't get the ball rolling tonight but should be able to sometime in the next couple days. REBEL if you could post some times when your clan & server would be available; I'll figure out the best time for all parties involved that doesn't interfere with other matches etc. Thanks guys and hopefully we can make it happen.

I will have to check it with the Leader but we do have 3 servers if you folks want to check pings out and we also have I believe it is 64 person TS if you want to do it up right. We do compete in almost all TWL leauges and ladders so as long as it is a night off we should get a great turnout. Right now Thursdays would be out due to 5v5 so as long as we steer around that it should be great.

do urself a favor and agree to no pixel aiming at the beginning of the round of baxe. or any map for that matter.

awwww sheeat. Nice job setting this up Doom. Count us in for atleast 3. We can get many just by xfire right at the time to start if we are a couple shy too. CMON PEOPLE , 20v20 would be dope! We could do a vote map if everyone objects to baxe.

Since [1stVCav] is kind enough to let us use their 50-man server, I think we should bump this up to a 25v25 and have a full out war!

MoZ, I generally frown at pixel aiming and I think most clans would agree, so none of that BS.

I need to know how many people each clan will be bringing. I think it would be best to keep it 6 or less from each clan. This will keep an element of diversity in the teams and give each clan a chance to bring a sizeable amount of peeps into the battle. I know this will depend on game time so I will research everyone's match schedules and post some times that will work best for everyone. So after I do that please post the best time that works for you as well as the number of players you will be bringing.

I'd like some map suggestions from everyone. Rather than just restricting ourselves to Battleaxe, if people are willing to play it out for a while, we could do a series of maps. There's a lot of great BFPro maps we could use. So everyone make a post of your 3 favorite Pro maps and we'll try to work out a sweet rotation. [1stVCav] I hope you guys have BFPro loaded on your servers or have the capabilities to; let us know if you don't.

Pretty sure we have any map you want on the server. If not we can get it.

I'm sure we could throw in a couple players, had fun in the little multi clan mini scrim the other night, we should try to get stuff like that organized more often, most of the hotties are always hanging around ts later in the night, and scrims are much more entertaining than pubbing.

So the clan roster so far is lookin like »§V§«, ·«|®|»·, -]Meef[-, [HOT], {DBH}, [1stVCav], .:LZ:., -i-, [SOE], and possibly =NCG= (-MoZ- is your clan interested or were you just posting?). I looked at all your TWL schedules and it looks like the best days to do it would be either Saturday the 18th, Sunday the 19th, or Monday the 20th. I'm guessing several clans have scrims set up on those nights so trying to work around that could be hellish. I think the best start time to play since we're all over the continent is maybe sometime between 4-7PM PT (giving east coasters the ability to head out for the night afterwards); of course I am open to suggestions.

I think the best maps to play for 50 players (Pro or not) are Battleaxe, Guadalcanal, Wake, Liberation of Caen, or Iwo Jima. I based my choices on map size, number of vehicles available, and team balance. El Alamein & Gazala are huge maps but I don't think the infantry should be repeatedly and ruthlessly subjected to marathons. Market Garden is just too plain unbalanced. Alamo & Korsun might be good custom Pro maps. Feel free to suggest your ideas and favorites. I think we'll either play 2 or 3 maps depending on whether tie-breakers are needed or not.

So depending on 1stVCav's response for server availability, please make a post for your clan stating:

(1) How many people you plan on bringing (please understand that not everyone you bring may be able to play to allow other clans equal opportunity),

(2) Which of those 3 dates (or less depending on 1stVCav) you can make and if you are available around the hours of 4-7PM PT. Feel free to suggest a different time but know that this may complicate things for others.

(3) The maps you'd like to play. The ones I listed above were only my choices. Please also take into account that it is a 25v25 so don't pick a small map.

Regarding voice comms, Kev, you mentioned -]Meef[- has got some Vent servers to provide; is there a limit to the number of people you can throw in? I've got a high quality Vent server but the capacity is 20. And REBEL, I was wondering if your 64-man TS server runs off the same box as your game server. If it does, we might be better off running voice comms somewhere else. Let me know.

Regarding number of players, it looks like we have close to 10 clans so maybe it might be better to restrict the number of players each clan brings to 5. If a few clans have 6 or 7 available, you might want to keep them closeby come matchtime in case of no-shows.

Try to bring an assortment of skills to the table. Ideally there should be an equal # of ace pilots & deadly tankers on each side.

We will also need to come up with some server settings. I think most of the standard TWL rules should work; not sure what the # of tickets should be set to so any suggestions there would be good. Depending on the map, I was thinking in the 350-450ish range. Maybe a time limit between 25-40 mins. I also think we should maybe turn nosecam off to give the pilots a bit of a challenge.

So anyways, thanks for the interest fellas. I think this huge battle will be a great way to make new friends as well as enjoy some friendly competition with some of the best out there. Hopefully we can get this party started sooner than later. If it's successful I'd love to make it a frequent affair. Peace...

OK good deal I will have to get with the officers to see about dates and times. I believe we actually have three TS servers available. We however have a match on the 21st si I can't say if those dates work for us. I was thinking we might do more than one map and if so we can sub in some clan members who don't get to play the first map. Again I will get with the officer of 1stVCav and see what they think on this.

Sadly the other deal we had seemd to go bust.

Nottidred if you see this I sure hope we can try again. And you guys and short bus might want to chime in here as well. The more the merrier I say tho it would seem we have quite a crowd already.

Artie, I noticed you guys have a 12v12 match on the 21st, that's why I suggested the days before it. It would probably give your team some good practice against some of the toughest the game has seen. Like I said, I'd love to see us doing 3 or more maps if all the clans are down but realistically people will prolly stick around for maybe 2 or 3. If we do it on Saturday I know that some teams will not be able to stick around too long because of the WF league matches that start at 8PM PT.

RebelAce & ibemacin, I'd love to see K3 and WP out there; show up at the time and we'll try to fit you fellas in.

I think that any clan that wants to sub players in is more than welcome to, after each round or game. That way everyone gets a chance to participate. I'll leave that up to the individual clans to figure out.
