TWL 5v5 Infantry Season 1

Alright guys, here we go.

To answer some of the community's requests, we're going ahead and using BFPro. for this Season's maplist. There's less nade spamming with the longer reload time. It'll make a perfect fit for 5v5 infantry.

As well, the good people over at BFPro made up some infantry only maps that have never been used in competition until now. There are no vehicles, and the flags are more centred on 5v5 infantry. (Ex. Bocage - the 2 bridge flags are now the main spawns so you don't have to walk all the way from your main.)

Season will begin NOVEMBER 18th and will be played Thursday nights. The Ruleset will be up shortly, so get your teams organized and your rosters set guys.

Pre-Season:

1.Berlin Pro
2.Stalingrad Pro
3.Bocage Pro

Regular Season:

Week 1: Kharkov (BFPro Infantry)
Week 2: Battleaxe Pro
Week 3: Caen (custom)
Week 4: Stalingrad (BFPro Infantry)
Week 5: Bocage (BFPRo Infantry)
Week 6: Berlin Midnight
Week 7: Abandoned City (Custom)
Week 8: Berlin (BFPRO Infantry)

Playoff maps will be released after the Regular Season is complete.

We're still taking sign-ups for teams so if you wanna participate, go ahead and join.

Looking very good...

We should also look into evening out the divisions. No offense to any teams, but nearly all the top ten/"good" teams are in the same division.

only 4 out of the 7 teams in our conference have enough players on them. actually those 3 only have 1 player each on them. are most of the conferences like that? what about a cutoff point before they get dropped? its gonna jack up the schedule if 2/5 of the teams dont show up every week.

Yep, it's basically the reason we're giving 2 weeks prior to the season starting. Everybody's getting their rosters in order and players added. When we get close to the start date and the teams are still as is, we'll re-organize to make up for the least amount of forfeits possible.

Don't worry. CCI has 130 members to pull from, and we're going full force recruiting and getting everyone set up on TWL. We will not be one of the groups getting cut. :-) I look forward to seeing you guys on the battlefield!

Isn't November 17th a Wednesday? Is it that the pre-season games will be played on the 17th and the actual season starts the day after which is Thursday the 18th ?

Looks like the number of teams got trimmed. They should do the same thing with the NHL and MLB.

The .71 full server install is a .zip file and can be downloaded at the mirror sites. It has successfully been run on several Linux boxes with no reported issues.

In the future at the top of your page goto Operations/Downloads and Files then select Bf1942 then click on view downloads.

Default time is 9:30 EST.

It's not Berlin Infantry, it's just Berlin_Pro

You can ask that question to the 65 teams on the infantry ladder, where bfpro isn't used.

Yeah, but BF Pro is used here and we have the option of playing on maps without the vechs spawning while the ladder doesn't. Just would make sense to me and all...

Uhh hey I have a question. In the rules the timer is set at 0. So this match won't have a time limit and it'll go just by tickets unlike the ladder which has a time limit?

There should be one of two changes in the rules. Either:

1. Make the round time 20 minutes.

2. Lower the tickets to 150 or 100

No time limit and high tickets makes for long boring rounds.

I agree. Time limits are a good thing. Or if no time limit, change the ticket count to 100%.

That has always been a major difference in the ladders and the leagues. One being only one map played, another being no time limit.

Yes but in a 5v5 league kills are much fewer and far between. When both teams are locked and there's no bleed 225 ticket ratios make for matches that will last a couple hours.
