WTF?

Alright, I heard a little rumor from someone who heard from someone that we are not allowed to switch guns on the GunGame ladder. I still don't know if it is true or not, but the idea of it equals fail.

NotYetPro disputed some team for switching guns while they were on nade. NYP didn't switch and they ended up having 3 nades and two knifers. A veteran team switched their weapons and they basically crushed them because they switched weapons.

First off, let me say this...I can guarantee you ALMOST every team on this ladder who knows how to play, switches their weapons. I have been playing on this ladder for almost two years and since I started with mW, we have been doing it. I don't think it is an exploit at all, it is a strategy.

I am letting you guys know this, if you guys make it illegal I am pretty sure a lot of teams on the ladder are going to be pissed as hell. Hell, teams may even drop out because all the shitty teams will end up winning, since most of the good teams will have their 5 get to nade before the 5th round, and therefore will end up having no guns...

This thread is about to take off.

I'm guessing it's a misunderstanding. There's no way gun switching could be made illegal. It would destroy the ladder.

eX will no longer be a part of this ladder if this rule change is made without any other changes.

It completely puts the better team at a disadvantage. 95% of the time we will get our 5 on nade/knife before the opposing team has 2 people on nade/knife. Therefore the opposing team, being smart, will easily be able to gun down everyone because we will not have any other means of defending ourselves. Therefore they could easily kill 4 of us with whoever has guns left, and use their whole team they could gang the last guy for the win if they only have one player on knife.

Once this rule change is made, I wouldn't doubt if you saw a huge decrease in the activity of this ladder... The main strategy would feature good teams having two guys do all the work while they leave 3 guys in spawn to maybe get a kill a round so there are still weapons available for helping with nade/knife at the end.

The only way something like this would work is if the nader/knifer was allowed to have a pistol.

I would hope that before this rule change is made that you guys actually get the opinion of the community rather than just blindsiding everyone who has played here for a year.

EDIT: I completely agree with Love here and I'm sure we will see the top20 teams all agree because they know how to play. Without switching it takes away from strategy and teamplay.

I agree totally with Glove and Sick it's retarded to make it illegal due to better teams with better shots leveling quicker. I know people are gonna be like well if they're so good make shots that don't kill and let some level up and bullshit. NO! That's retarded why limit your play because some boogus rule. It shouldn't be in effect because a few whiney ass teams didn't wise up and notice how to do it in the first place.


If they do this strategy is no longer a factor in TWL.

I'm pretty sure if this passes most of the top 10teams will drop out of the ladder. Honestly its going to be stupid if we aren't allowed to switch weapons.

According to an admin that I talked to, this is supposed to be made public tonight by Or1te. Apparently the rule was enacted a long time ago but Or1te never actually announced it or publicized it in any way. I guess we have all been cheating for a while now.

I don't think eX will be the only team to drop if this is made the rule without discussion first. Fab will seriously consider it at well. It completely undermines the integrity of the game. Outlawing !give is one thing, and completely a good thing. Outlawing gunswitching without using !give is asinine.

That rule is straight up fail.

If this rule actually does go through its only a minor setback for myself.
I have played many seasons of reg css and know almost every gun and how much damage each bullet will do.
Youll be sure to see me "Stuck" on pistols for a long time if a silly little rule as this gets passed.

Good luck to all the trigger happy people that play gungame if this rule gets pushed out.

P.S. I'm sure this will not happed due to the obvious decrease in teams this already small ladder has.

Honestly, I would as I am sure my team would agree, playing 1 match just for the fun of it. Like, how horrid could this possibly make gun game ladders? We will never know if someone doesn't try it out.

I vote against not switching guns.

For one, we are using GG4, which does give us the wrong gun at times, and so you are saying that if we accidentally pick up the wrong gun and kill with is its a DQ?

If the other team does not know how to strategies and ends up getting wrecked over it, then maybe they should rethink their strategy and start using the winning one.

As far as 5v5 reg goes, if you have no money and your team mate buys you an AK47 and you wreck with it, would you call that an exploit as well? that's exactly what you're doing with the Gungame gun switch strat. Preventing us from working as a TEAM.

They wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the ladder. Even if it was a rule ages ago, it will be reversed. It's the only element of strategy in the ladder, removing it would remove the competition.

i cant speak for certain since im not a team captain, but i would imagine that Mutiny would be out as well. its bad enough that they are putting horrible maps into the rotation but to eliminate gun switching is retarded. next they gunna make it so guns disaappear once the player is dead?

I believe it's crazy to put this rule into effect. It makes it so much harder for the better teams and leaves everyone hanging if your whole team is on knife/nade. Which puts that team at a disadvantage. It should be legal to swap weapons if this doesn't pass then like everyone has said all the top 20 teams will fall off the ladder pretty quickly.

Mutiny agrees, weve played over 60 matches in the gg ladder and teams have been doing the wep swap for as long as there has been a ladder. its hardly something you could call an exploit, your just not leveling, like saying a T team in reg who kills the other team instead of planting the bomb is exploiting

100% done if this bullshit rules comes into the ladder. This is a complete pointless and stupid rule cause in no way shape or form is it an exploit. I dont know what the fuck this other team was thinking by even bringing this up but they are the biggest failsauce I have ever seen!

If it goes through the TWL GG Ladder will be done for.

Apparently it is being debated and not a done deal. Just sit tight.

I think that it would destroy the ladder and they only did that is because they get rolled and cry about it i mean if u lose take it and move i mean it is only a video game it is all 4 fun we dont play 2 cause stress we play 2 relax

but no admin in there right mind will agree to make it a rule to not allow gunswitching

This passes its "Adios" for most of the Gungame players. Cause all the more reason ALL teams have used the switching of weapons. Why not just ban the whole ladder? Oh wait there goes your league I'm so sorry... But for realz this shouldn't pass or everyone who is a legit and strategy made player will leave and I can almost probably guarantee it.

So now the new question is have the whole ladder rage quit because TWL fails to implement a rule that has been around for awhile from what I heard or just get rid of the rule which labels this as a whole strategy idea?

Back when iue5 was #1, we never switched weapons until we played eX. It was a, oh shit they are doing this, so we have to kind of thing. I was never a fan of trading weapons in the first place, but for the record, i would never dispute it.

I personally wouldn't care if this happened, provided that naders/knifers get a pistol or have the ability to pick up a dead persons guns.

As everyone else has already stated, this is the stupidest rule ever. Enforce it, and you will see a mass exodus of teams from this ladder.

As Phidan said, give the nader/knifer a gun and we might stick around for a little while.

Just end the ladder right now while ur at it.
