Match acceptance time??

If a team is able to accept a match after the 48hr match acceptance deadline, (due to an admin not getting to it in time, a glitch or whatever reason) should we as a team bend the rules a bit and proceed with the match? Or do we stick to the rules, contact an admin and ask for the forfeit win?

Now before anything is said, ..... I do understand that with so few admins and so many teams and ladders that it is not possible to be there the minute a match acceptance expires. I also understand that a match played is better than a no show, not played or forfeit match. (I understand these things and appreciate very much the time and effort the TWL admins put forth) However, those who took the time to painstakingly put all these rules we play by together, allowed a very generous amount of time for said acceptances of a match. I mean 48 hours, I think is very generous.

Yes, I know stuff happens, I know all to well from personal experience and have had to accept the consequences of my delay etc etc. I like drag racing and have seen late staging and green light jumping. A late stage is one thing in fact a good tactic to draw your competitors focus off his game/start but, if you jump before the green flashes you loose. Also, if your holding up the race to put air in your tires before leaving or your car breaks at the starting line and needs to have a new carb or something put on, then you have to forfeit. They are not gonna wait, as others are in competition for your spot as well, and it would not be fair to them.

Last minute match acceptance is one thing, but what I am talking about is accepting after the match 48hr acceptance period expires. Or should bump up match acceptance to 48 1/2hrs, 72 hrs, or a full week even?

I guess what I am asking is, Where is the line drawn? Where does the rule, or rules, stand firm?

No flaming please, just asking a few simple questions, as my teammates and I do not want to break any rules, but on the same token nor do we want to be taken advantage of, due to our not knowing something.

The line is drawn when an admin is able to process the forfeit. If the defending team accepts it before an admin is able to process the forfeit, it will need to be played.
The past 3 or 4 challenges we've made went well beyond the 48 hour mark.

We were forced to accept the replies since no Admin. processed the forfeit before they were able to respond.

How about a rule change that gives the option to the team that's waiting for an acceptance/time/date answer the option to refuse those who exceed the 48 hour rule and take the forfeit win?

Otherwise, what's the point in having rules?
Email the admin and they will take care of it
