This thread really is done now & has serverd its purpose.
Cutting through all the 'bump' posts, there are probably a total of 1 or 2 pages worth of good discussion on why an 8v8 ladder would be a good idea.
Now, based on the requests/comments expressed over the last 5 pages - a vote was put up by Heywood, so people could vote on what ladder sizes they wanted.
But the vote was/is limited to members of teams on the NA 5v5 Ladder.

http://www.teamwarfare.com/ballot/results.asp?ballotid=463
Doing some quick maths here - we have approx 350 teams on that ladder, with an average of 5 members per team. As the vote is for 'Founders Only'. Thats approx 350 people who could vote.
How many people actually have voted so far?
http://www.teamwarfare.com/ballot/results.asp?ballotid=463
Total: 77 votes.
How many out of those 77 want an 8v8 ladder?
Total: 42.86% (33)
33 out of a potential 350 is hardly a majority.
Why not focus your efforts in talking to the teams on IRC/their own forums to gather support for your cause, instead of filling up these forums with repetition.
People have a place to vote on what they want - we provided the function - now please go use it.
I believe the admins are looking at this the wrong way. A majority vote is never going to happen. Having a NO option in the founders vote is a bad idea. A team votes no, ok, they don't want to participate in an 8v8. But why should their vote have a negative impact on the poeple that do want one?
Why not look at it like this? There are currently 30+ teams that do want one. In my opinion that is way more than enough to warrant a ladder. There are many other ladders in other games here at TWL with far less than 30 active teams. Like others have said in the topic that was locked, it could be a major selling point in bringing CS:S teams to TWL. I mean, the idea here is making TWL a bigger and better operation right?
It's just my personal opinion, but the way I see it, what is there to lose? OK, at worst the ladder bombs and you get rid of it. But I'll bet my bottom dollar that it will be very successful. So why not get one going already?
