maybe ur disk is scratched or something, try cleaning it. (not with kleenex)
i get that, reinstalled, reformatted, used a virtual cd, and even tried my old cd rom. Im using the no cd crack now so.....

they have a troubleshooting thing on this so try that first
Brit uses hax.

Anyways it's an issue with some Blizzard games. It has to do with a selection on your CD rom... I think it's DMA or something, that causes it sometimes.

Was very prevalent with Diablo II.
i've tried disabling and enabling DMA again, didnt do a thing for me. And i refuse to make my dvd burner using pca(or w/e) mode.
I've ran into that problem before and i've been able to resolve it quite nice frankly. First you need to take the CD and make sure it is not scratched/dirty etc. After that make sure that your dma drivers are properly configured and are set in their proper slot given it is in the same IRQ and not IRC or AIM (I always get confused lol) (most of the time they go with the AGP if not PCI but never ISA). Next make sure your motherboard chipset has the latest sound card drivers.

If you don't you will need to call ATi and have them issue you a RMA because the hard drive stops and thus can lead to your system hanging. I've read in the blizzard tech forums that the stock ones that came in windowsXP (given you have a sound blaster 5.1) Have some issues and thus result in your system hanging sometimes.

I hope This information helps you. It's helped people resolve their UE problem in Tribes 2 btw.
