Anyone else notice the cheaters are creeping back into the level 10+ matches? I started noticing them again this weekend. The last round of account resetting helped quite a bit...I just hope Blizzard can continue doing it to keep the system clean.
imo, all the hardcore cheaters probably got some system set up so they dont get caught. cuz i've not seen a individual account banning from a replay(after my 10+ emails)

they need to implement something into bnet itself. besides, its been a month since the bannings seeing how opium got back on :x
yeah there's little *subtle* things that could make one wonder about someone's gameplay. The one thing that I notice now and then is when someone sends a hero to some very obscure place where you just happen to be creeping and they start fucking with you. I mean like sending an Archmage solo to a group of ogres that you're creeping with a small creeping party...something that a solo AM can't really do by himself. Or even weirder is when the game pretty much just starts and you're creeping your natural expo on lost temple and an enemy hero waltzes in for a quick nuke then runs away. It's just too strange IMO but it happens now and then. UGH then there's the dreaded blind rush on Crucible. 2 armies in your base by sundown w/o any scouting. I've played RT with admitted hackers on my team. Won some, lost some. Most hackers suck badly anyways, but there's been a few that really played it off nicely.

Yea..... =/
brit, I don't think Blizzard used the "e-mail demos of hackers" system to weed out the cheaters. Tillerman wrote an article about this (I don't have a link), and that of all the hacker recordings he submitted to Blizzard, only about 40% of those had their accounts reset. Since Tillerman is such a high-profile player, I would imagine that if they used the e-mail system, then the percentage would have been much higher.

Also, given the number of hackers that were out there before the latest patch, I think an automated solution would have been the only feasible solution.
I believe the way it works is:

Battle.net hosts the Ladder games and therefore, all packets you send from your computer go through battle.net. This is the same for your opponent. Battle.net keeps track of what *SHOULD* be happening (I think by comparing the packets recieved by both) and marks down any abnormalities. Then they just review it and any obvious ones get marked as cheaters.

Naturally, a good programmer could simply fake the packets but that'd be one hell of a program that knows what SHOULD be sent and what IS being sent... considering it's different per game. Not to mention, per map...

** edit:

I just ended up repeating myself...

i know they dont ban from replays, im talking about the cheaters themselves. cuz I KNOW they cheat, but they're still climbing the ladder. So w/e the system that banned ppl didnt work.
