Cool
and I *just* got my tri hero strat down packed too.
As long as casters are made into casters and not barbarians MORESO than they already are, I'm cool with it. I figured they'd add 1 new hero for each race.

EDIT:

omg we can BUILD our own shops? leeeet

It's hard for me to hold back from the ban button.
hoo! hah! kai-ya!

rofl...he kicked the shit out of those bastard skeletons.
SlayerofFilth
i have a bobble head evil ash IT KICKS ASS
They are releasing this pretty early in comparison to BW for SC. I remeber BW coming out like almost 2 yrs after SC, or maybe my timeline is fux'd up. And some of the "new" units arent really new but w/e.
The idea of neutral Heros is a bit baffling to me...

They probably won't be Uber-Great Heros, because then everyone would buy em up the second they were ready, making it unfair.

But then, they would have to make 'em NOT Uber-Great, in which case, who would buy 'em?

And if you ask me, unless ALL the other units in the expansion will kick ass, it looks like the humans are gonna *PWN* the sh!t out of the other races.

The Spell Breaker seems like a Dryad's Dream... a unit that SPREADS spell immunity AND it can STEAL and recast enemy-buffs?!?! Combine that with the fact that they get another INT-based Hero with the Brillance-Aura-spewing Arch Mage, it seems like melee units will be a thing of the past. "Pretty Lights" to the fifth power; 3 mage units, AM AND another INT based Hero for a single players army.
Where the f have you been for the last 3 months? Melee units have been a thing of the past since like 1.03.

"omg I have 50 doctors and 20 shaman I win!"

"omg teh sorc/priest combo is 1337 I win!" - not as true as orc casters but still.

Hell I've even been hearing about UD caster-massers. WTF??? What the fuck is the world coming to?

But anyways, yeah melee units have been done away with for basically everyone except UD.
SlayerofFilth
I still seem to do fairly well with a basic melee army backed by mages and shit. I always play random so I never know what my game plan is exactly, but I hardly ever see mass-casters. Well, it is more common than it was, but melee is far from being completely abolished. Long live Aboms.
lmfao. wtf are you smoking dude. Everyone masses casters...you'd have to play like total noobs 100% of the time to think that "I hardly ever see mass casters". I play rt, lvl 13 so I see a good majority of the wc population, and lemme tell ya....every orc will caster-mass...3/4 humans will caster-mass...about 1/2 of night elves will at least attempt to abuse dryads with tri-hero, usually getting a very late PotM after the DH is lvl 5 or 6 already. I dunno man..I rarely ever have a game against people that don't have a huge number of casters.
SlayerofFilth
Cuz special abilities win! omg! lol. Yes, casters rock, cuz there are strats to run with them... and massing makes that easier.
angelic u need to get on irc.dynamix.com

I cant get hold of u atm cuz I cant access my email, and I donno what happend with the bruce lee match up cuz I was at chinese new yrs party and forgot bout this. When i look to apologize, he reported a loss for himself. WTFS?
good melee units with casters is ideal grunts and witch doctors always seems to work for me. just make sure you always buy a wand of negotiation
I have no respect for orc players! BE GONE!

Of course it works. It's not the grunts either, trust me. If you were to subtract every single grunt you put in your army, you could still win by putting in an equal amount of shaman and a couple more docs. Moreover, orc hero nuke > any amt of grunts you have anyways. It's not the grunts ;p.
SlayerofFilth
orc hero nuke is so easily countered by dryads. bye bye wolves, bye bye illusion. If you're UD, get a WoN?
rofl.

wolves aren't nuke u momo ;p. CL is. Wave is. Chainwave is the worst fucking nuke I've ever seen..everything dies. Yeah won mirror image bla bla...but that isn't nuke. Nuke is like...coil/nova/swarm. AoE spells done right after the other. Another example is blizzard/thunderclap. Spells that, when done immediately after each other, resulting in massive losses are nukes. Orc nuke > almost every other nuke IMO. UD has AMS...hope it doesn't get dispelled.. that's all I gotta say.

SlayerofFilth
thats why dryads are elite. Get a kotg, or DH with mana burn and you're good to go.
well yeah that's great for NE isn't it ;p
SlayerofFilth
kill the seer first, sleep the tauren the entire time. Frost nova aint so bad. if the chief have shockwave, chances are that he doesnt have stomp so it's safer to surround him.

do u play ppl that use items =\. NEVER surround a TC. U will die if he has the required items to be a tank. Factor every stasis trap...lust...maybe a wyvern or two..blah. It's not impossible by any means, though. It's just difficult (for UD at least). Gargs do work nicely IF u can get enough of them up. like at least 12+. Focus them on Farseer...try to get shees/ghouls in a group. AMS and try your best to down as many docs as possible. Sleep TC as much as possible like u said.
SlayerofFilth
Are There Any pics of the new heros?
tons. http://www.blizzard.com

(goof)

I just either buy 2 wands of negation or grab some dispelling priests and have myself a little field day with mass casters.

And yes there are soo many frigging many frigging many frigging many of them.

WHAT UP ZOMBIE........stop by #twan sometime on irc...if you even hang on that anymore, catch up on stuff and we play somewc3 weeeeeeee
LOL yea right man I don't know wtf apocalypse did but I still get booted after like 5 seconds of logging in. Enmity said he'd teach me tho
SlayerofFilth
Zombie, you said that mass casters is win? Then why do I see Night Elf annihilating casters? Especially Orc. Melee is under-estimated. Grunts + OT, Hunts + Dryads + Ballista, Mass Ghouls + Scrolls of Healing + Scrolls of Protection, Mass footmen + scrolls of healing + inner fire... I've seen melee annihilate casters... if you read more up on WC3, Blizzards goal was:

Melee > Range
Range > Air
Air > Melee

Though they still need to tune it, they are achiving that more and more. Though there are minor exceptions... Such as, peircing vs heavy armor, normal vs light armor and anything vs medium armor.

** edit:

BTW, I can show you several replays of melee beating casters.

Show us a demo of you beating an orc who went trip-hero/mass caster.
Okay, I'll post ones of me doing and ones of top players doing it.

Since on the name I'm currently on, I'm only level 11 at this moment so I only can play max, level 17. Therefore, I'll also show replays of top players playing vs top players and achiving the effect with tremendious success.

Night Elf vs Orc
Night Elf vs Undead
Night Elf vs Human

I *was* going to upload mine but I didn't want to take the time to watch them to see which were which but if it matters that much, then I will. Just reply. Even though I think thsoe will suffice.

Orc > undead

u forgot to mention that it's near impossible to beat dual orc casters when there's an UD on the other team (sry, don't play 1v1). Only way we have a chance is with an orc or human on our side...even a good NE dryad whore with chims.
SlayerofFilth
i beat LJ with mass ghouls
Me and my Partner, Nate, are 15-0 as NE / Human

i take it you didnt get in the legit beta after they sent 20000 keys, and you dont even bother to google it expecting some friendly foo to do the work for free, on top of that, i sense a demanding tone and not even a ing one. I would normally be glad to get you the beta whether u got in or not, but I refuse to be someone's bitch on teh interweb
oh no.. I meant no hostility from my post, cause I really do suck at the game and couldn't possibly comment on strategy. Also I was referring to the final release when it comes out but i'm assuming yes the expansion will require a whole new key since the beta versions has cd keys. That sux since I bought 2 copies of wc3 and neither of the keys will work with expansion
u sux at the interweb and life h8s u plz ctrlkirl right now
