as much as i want this new version to succeed, there have been many posts on the forums that have led me to believe this game is going to be shit again. no leaning? corners where you auto lean? very small beta team filled of fan boys from AA3.

i hope i am wrong, but this could be as disasterous as aa3.

I believe the Devs said it will be another week or so before they open up public beta, which is when you guys will see the OPORD and thus be able to get the game

I don't think they know one individual from the other except the name, and maybe some pub stats? Don't know how they could possibly know which players played comp and which just pubbed. It'd be interesting to hear how they decided who would have beta access and who wouldn't.

Proving grounds has no similarities with AA2 or AA3.
Well, it have one for each version.
The gun firing sounds are close to AA3.
You can heal yourself like in AA2, however is much more different, it takes one second or less to apply the bandage in yourself.

The movement and how player run and he bends the body forward is very similar to COD/BF3, but with a UT touch, maybe because UE. Also throwing grenades is very similar to COD/BF3.
The movement is fast also the actions are fast, very fast.
For those who are used to six minutes rounds, you can forget it. Rounds will take 3 minutes or less (in bigger maps) and 2 minutes or less (in small maps).
The game is really fast paced, in Bridge you can reach middle top in a couple of seconds. In matters of gameplay, i compare it to Counter Strike.
The weapon scopes are really huge (in relation to weapon size), preventing the visibility to the right side of the screen.
However the movements are much more fluid, which is a good thing.
If we could had this type of fluidity with AA3, i bet it would be a resounding success.

Some will like it, some will not, it is a completly different game. BUT if i see some one saying that like it because see some similarities with AA2 or AA3 i will roll in the ground laughing.

Edit. I believe that PG will have a lot of success in competition, which is for what he is aimed.

Ehh, I've played enough CS, CoD, BF and they never lasted a fraction of as long as AA2 for me. Hearing that is a bit of a disappointment but it's good to know it's better than AA3.

I honestly deep down I guess was hoping for AA2 again..

Love the pace in that game and didnt have the childish arcadey feel that all these other FPS have these days.

I wouldn't base your opinions of the game you may have or have not played off of one person's opinion.

in fact, I would expect nothing out of this next version of Americas army, especially the way AA3 was treated throughout its development.

bf3 is too arcade-y in its movement, cod is very fast paced in its game play. do we agree on this? if yes, then of course when you hear the new version of AA is a collab of these 2 games I would be turned off also.

The game is nothing like COD of BF. I find it to be similar to AA2- I think the guns fire terribly but that is just my opinion.

The fact that you have to corner screen people on long range maps again is a joke. I feel like i am playing River Basin or Bridge SE all over again.

Movement is still to slow as you feel like a 500lb fat man trying to move. The fact that you can kill someone and be killed by them at the same time is beyond me.

Overall the game has a ton of potential, as it is only in Beta. I was a die hard AA2 player for god knows how many years and AA4 reminds me of those good old days.

I seen some people post about it here, not sure if you guys figured it out yet.

After getting the initial Beta email, you sign the NDA and then it doesn't really tell you anything.

You just need to go to the beta login, then once logged in, click on "Opord" under "Read Opord" and then in there it will give you your steam AA4 key and you just register it under steam.

Again, sorry if everyone already knew this. I did not see it posted here.
