Invitational League??

Anyone know when this is going to be kicked off? Are the divisions set yet?
havet a clue what your talking about
only psi knows
its being worked. . More info when the boss man gives it to me.

I still think PSI is in his no comment. phase again...
Having an estimated timeframe or something would be nice. Almost every other day I have to check to see if there are any updates to the invitational league. Would be good just to setup an estimated date as to when the league can get started.
Its as the devs say...when its done.
Teams have been placed in divisions. Maps and schedules will be up by this weekend. First preseason match date is TBD, need to work out the open league first.

Dude, I don't mean to sound harsh and downplay all the admins hard work, but some serious issues need to be addressed about the way the divisions are setup. http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewleague.asp?league=AA+6v6+Invitational Here is how they currently rank:
Honor Conference - Airborne Division = 1 Playoff team [82nd]
Honor Conference - Infantry Division = 4 Playoff teams H*, ST-6, *SAW*, and ^NMG^
Loyalty Conference - Airborne Division = 4 Playoff teams RPE, 13SC, RD, and ten
Loyalty Conference - Infantry Division = 2 Playoff teams [2ID] and [CoC]

Now, I'm all for competitive play, but these divisions are horribly unbalanced and guarantee some very good team gets screwed. Finally, not to knock any of the other divisions but [DWG] and [NR] in the same division with RPE, RD, 13SC, and [ten.] is by far the most unbalanced division. Any one of those teams could go all the way. The next one would have to be the one with H*, ST-6, SAW, and NMG. The only playoff team missing from the invite league is Butchers. I hope this can be resolved before preseason play gets under way. It may take some teams swapping conferences even. If you are up for suggestions I'm sure all the squads in the league would be ready and willing to help out. Thanks!

Yes totally unfair brackets. TWL should not allow squads allowed in setting brackets to play in that division!!!
Readjusted. I can't divide it any farther. Two divisions have three playoff teams, two have two teams.

Last season is not really represenative due to the screw ups. I originally did it randomly.

Do you see me on a team????? I set them up. Lets not forget, this is not a ladder. Its based on points. Anyone can make it to the playoffs no matter who is in your division.

Thanks Admins
OK, thanks for addressing this issue. The divisions now all have 3 playoff teams in them barring the Loyalty Conference - Infantry Division, but these are as even as they could be.
Rgr, gotcha Psi. GJ and thx for staying on top!

I'm all for competition, hence why we won the TWL League and moved into the Invite League. The teams were obviously unbalanced though when you take 8/10 playoff teams and cram them in two divisions. The problem was resolved immediately by Psi, who I graciously thank for his efforts.

Don't get happy with me too early. We have been having a problem with email getting to people. Kermit spent alot of time going through all your records and has a pretty nice spread sheet made out that has it balanced out pretty good. Its based on more than just how you did in the league. It takes into consideration how well you've done on the ladders also.

So, expect a change in the line-ups.

Hey Psi, I know you guys have had some problems with me in the past, but I just want to say you guys rock. You are doing an excellent job. You and Kermit and all the admins. So, thank you from [Fox].
Lineup change probably isn't a bad idea. As I see it my division (Loyalty Conf, Inf. Div.) is by far the weakest. While we have 2 playoff teams, they are probably the two weakest teams who made it to the playoffs. Meanwhile both Airborne Divisions are stacked with great teams, top to bottom. What I consider the worst team in the Honor AB Div would have a good shot at winning the Loyalty Inf Div.
I know that this is a little off topic, but it does have to do with the invitational league.
I would like to introduce our team, Echo Force, to the other 23 teams that are going to participate in the Invitational League. Some of you guys already know us and some of you don't, but we are working hard to get into the top ten of a few ladders. (we started a little late
But, I'm sure I speak for the rest of my teammates when I say that we see this as a great honor to be associated with such talented teams and we hope to prove to you that we deserve to be in the ILs. I think this will be a fun exciting and intense experience and yes we are going to try and provide serious competition to each and everyone one of you
Thanks guys!
I have MO'd one of your matches [EF] but have not had the pleasure of playing you guy's yet. My team is another team that has been active since A.A. started but have yet to play alot of these teams. As you said some of the teams know us but like you we look forward to spraying some lead with all of the teams in here. We just missed the sign ups for league last year so we are pretty exicted to be part of the invitational. It will be a great Honor and our pleasure to be playing with a bunch of top notch classy teams in TWL. Good luck to everyone.
Well said...

Good luck to everyone, it should an exciting season.
all sounds good, gl all... hopefully everyone has ggs!

cant wait for the 2nd vs 2ID match!
/me gets out his flame retardent suit.....

ok as far as i am concerned the best way to set conferneces/divisions is to draw them blindly out of a hat. The reason being is that no matter what you do, someone will cry. now, what you can do is this, place the champion and the runner up in different conferences. this assumes that the teams were the best the last season. I have much experience running fantasy sports leagues, and have tried it both ways. No matter what, grown men will cry. Setting them does not work, unless you leave them the same year after year. Teams get better, or lose players and become weaker. conferences on last season is speculation. By setting the conferences you are assuming that the playoff teams from last year were the best teams, and you all know what assume does!

Also, i could care less if our conference is tougher then the others. That way if we make it into the playoffs i know we will be prepared.

Go ahead and send us a check now to pay for all the body-bags we'll need for you guys hehe
I agree with Rhitty. I think the teams should be randomly placed because he changes things up every season. It wouldn't be fun to see all the same teams in the playoffs all the time. I'm not saying this because we aren't the "best", but even if we were I cannot see much fun in playing ez teams all the time during the season matches. Ya'll complain that the "good teams" will be upset because they didn't make the playoffs. Are we a bunhc of kids or are we going to act mature? In the end only ONE team wins. If the team that won the division title in tough divison they obviously are good and will probably win the entire league anyway. I think it's more of a need to mix things up, not place teams cause ya'll are going to act immature and whine about it.

(Note: This is not a flame toward ANYONE. This is just my opinion on why it should be a random placement. I respect all the teams out there, and even admire some of yas. Like Rhitty said, I would have absolutely no problem being not such a good team stuck in a group of "leet" teams. If the tides fall that when then they do. If not they don't; it just depends on.)
well on behalf of the {325th} I would like to wish good luck to you all. We've played with some of you so far and had some good honest and heated "fights" on the battlefield.

We are looking forward to this new challenge, and feel priviledged to have been invited to this league to compete with the best of the best of the best. Hope we have as much fun as we did for the past 3 months that we've been with TWL. ( ok 'nuff sucking up )

lock and load babies, we'll bring the body bags, and Hoser will bring the beer !
